England had enough of the game to win it, but they didn’t. France were poor in parts and I expected better tbh, despite all the hype Mbappe was fairly quiet. I can enjoy the rest of the tournament now the England are packing their bags!

As much as I felt England's players were too quick to tumble to the ground, on another day they could conceivably have had four pens. The French made a number of rash tackles in and around their box.

The winner took a significant deflection. I'm not quite sure what constitutes an own goal. If the ball would otherwise have landed in the keeper's arms is that an OG? Or if it was on target anyway does the striker get the credit?

At least it's two years now until the next pile of nonsense. With the players they have, they should have brushed that injury ravaged French team aside. Wjhat Lineker needs to write is Once, Just Once, maybe we'll show some guts when we play against a decent team.

They blew it whichever way you look at it, but for me the lions share of the blame must go to Southgate. His selection was strange to say the least. Henderson Rice Maguire and Shaw whom more or less marked Foden with his positioning. Griezman in the first half should have been sorted after 10mins with that line up and the sight of Henderson chasing or pressing the GK clueless. Negative imho
