Martinball is as close to Spainball as Cardiff is to the Swansea Way.

Martinfaffball is all about retaining possession at all costs - costs such as sacrificing width and pace for congesting the middle.  Martin prefers safe players out wide, like Lati who looks to retain the ball by cutting back in, into an already congested middle.  All in the hope we can stifle, squeeze and pop out a goal by coercion.

Coercion, congestion, sifleing - a million miles from what made us famous. And ultimately a mid-table, mediocre Martinfaffball flaw.

It's such the pity Martin gave the players another day off instead of getting them in to work on width, pace and playing through the lines - and make them all watch the Spain game together to learn, share and openly discuss how flawed the current Martinbfaffball system truly is.
