I feel like this will be warranted over the next few weeks/month.

I think Forest are going to get promoted, automatically aswell.

If they do then Cooper will rightly be lauded for one of the greatest achievements in living memory, dare I say more impressive than Cloughs first stint there.

And the story will always start with.. "he was sacked by Swansea City.."

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.. and despite which side forced the issue more, was it the right decision?

What is it Darran always says ?
Can't stand the bloke, can't stand the team, can't forgive Cooper for such a turgid non event at Wembley
As Darran says ...

Yes.

Cant forgive the bottle job at Wembley. Hope they miss out on automatic on goal difference, and lose the play off final on pens.

There's a few things here

Not sure I could ever agree with the "one of the greatest achievements in living memory" - he has got a decent tune out of a half decent side in a pretty bang average division. It's not really Leicester City material is it  And certainly not in any comparison to Brian Clough taking a side to win back to back European Cups.

"He was sacked by Swansea City" - not really true. Cooper wanted out the moment we lost last years play off final - he pretty much said so in his post match interview https://planetswans.co.uk/2021/05/29/coopers-talksport-comment-was-a-crystal-palace-hint/ - the summer was spent with him failing to get the jobs he craved so maybe the narrative should actually be "the one that got away" for the sides that overlooked him when they elected he was not the right man for the job

It will always remain my belief that Cooper did not fancy a rebuild ahead of him - look at where we were at the start of the season and the question will always be would Cooper have done a better job this season than Martin - we will never know but I'm certainly not convinced.

Forest had 4 points from 8 games when he arrived - they now have 76from 43 - 68 points from 35 games is a superb return and promotion winning form but in the same time Fulham have 71 points, Bournemouth 61, Huddersfield 63 and even Luton 62 - its not the Roy of the Rovers stuff the media would like to believe it.

A good manager with a good squad that he inherited who had clearly decided the old manager was not for them - he has worked well with them and even if they dont go up automatically they should be overwhelming favourites for the play offs. Not taking anything away from him but him leaving Swansea was inevitable as soon as we lost the play off final and remains the right decision.

Oh and Saint's comment about the play off final too - completely agree - we froze on the biggest day and made it easy for Brentford

Didn't like him when he was here, was expecting him to do a decent enough job at Forest, by that I mean mid table. It's incredible what he has done, apparently playing decent football aswell so congrats to him.

I genuinely hope they pip Bmuff now after how they were last night, f*ck em.

He his chance to get us up and completely f*cked it. I didn’t want to see him take Forest up if I’m honest, but after Bournemouth’s antics last night, I’d happily let him get 2nd place and see Bournemouth lose in the plays offs.

He's been better for them than he was for us. That is the only thing to say really. Other than 'who cares?'

Always be the man that failed with us. Failed to get us back with parachutes and Ayew; failed to find a decent sustainable playing style; failed to turn up in his biggest two games; failed to leave us better off than when he came; failed to develop any of our players.

If he gets them up he'll always be the man that succeeded with them. Probably already is as he 'saved' them from relegation, but my Aunt Edna could have done that after Hughton with that team. Doesn't change his history with us, and he certainly wasn't going to be succeeding with us this season.

He's obviously a much better manager than I thought he was, and also by far the luckiest I've ever seen, but he's dead to me now.

He has a far better squad at Forest to work with. He has moved on and so should we.

What happened with Hughton with them? Everyone expected a new manager bounce but to get them on brink of autos from being in relegation battle looks awful on him.

This, but I would like to summarise into a shorter sentence:

Nice guy who bottled getting us up playing dreadful football before schitting the bed at the prospect of a rebuild job who I'm more than happy to see promoted at Bournemouth's expense.

Coventry City v Swansea City
