The position of striker can be seen as the most difficult position in a team to obtain especially when finance is limited and almost every club is looking through the same data sheets, while as the window begins to close down the transfer fee, even for a loan player, begins to start rising.

To be fair to the analysts working for our club, and our relatively new owners, coupled with a policy very much unheard of recruiting early, one has to go back to the Premier League seasons when this policy last occurred.

With 90% of our recruitment plans already completed that one position - striker - is on the wish list of all and sundry and whilst the club's analysts have no doubt crossed out a number of candidates at the head of the list one just hopes that as they work down their list the quality of that missing recruit doesn't diminish and is available for the fee we are prepared to pay.
