There's a trend here we have to break for the future

Luke Williams was assistant to Russell Martin

Alan Sheehan was assistant to Michael Duff

No more promoting those who have been assistants to crap Managers.

The cycle needs to be broken
Sheehan was forced on Duff by Watson. Duff set up to fail so Watson could get his man in - Sheehan or ideally Jones. He failed with the latter. But the former always had ambitions higher than being an assistant to Williams, when he got the job ahead of him.

I think it would have been broken last time but the owners didn't have a plan beyond sacking Williams. Sheehan was given the job temporarily and then that was extended until he eventually got the gig full time.
If the owners had a plan in place for Williams' successor when sacking him it would have been a different story.
I hope they've learned their lesson.

I said last year that we needed to cut from the links from previous managers and hierarchy but got chased out of town for it.

I confess that Sheehan's record then turned my attention that he had to get the job but in reality it is looking like another wrong call by myself and club.
