Doing my head in, like car alarms going off in your head,,

The weird thing is though, just drink one can of lager, and for me it disappears, it was terrible on Friday night, could hardly hear the TV, downed 1 cans of lager, and then total silence, WTF?

I mean that's not the route I want to go down, just getting peed up to block the noise, but its kind of weird, how the high pitches in my ears stop, after even half a can of beer.

I've had 24/7 tinnitus for about 30years... not funny

That’s awful mate, I hate it. Can’t hear yourself think or even hear conversations, kind of weird though, why would say half a can of lager, make the high pitch noises go away? Not that’s a cure, but I’m gobsmacked that Friday night, the ringing was really bad, soon as I cracked a can it went away. Not pissed just like a few gulps first drink gone.

Yep same here, constant whistling in the left ear, I can block it out most of the time in the day as there other noises around, it's worse in bed when its quiet, mine isnt that bad, I deal with it.

Also have it in one ear. I’d guess the lager takes your mind off it. Same here and when I’m distracted.
The funny thing I researched that and apparently alcohol has no effect on some people. For me what I’m thinking is, there must be some sort of tablet or something else to stop this

For me, its just an excessive build up of wax, which I have suffered from for the last 40 years, I think the damage was done, with the old style of removing wax, the water irrigation method, they stopped that due to perforating so many eardrums,

That's true, either private or the Nhs, but god it pees me off the hoops you have to run around just to get a referral.

I strongly suspect that your reponse is a stress related one... which is great unles your tinnitus develops and i hope it doesn't.

I have bi-aural tinnitus and hearing loss and it's wank to live with. My brother swears that i got grumpier after the advent of 24/7 tinnitus and I'm certain it has coloured my life...grey.

I just had the old micro suction at Boots. £60, booked online. Made a big difference to my hearing and I think my tinnitus is better. Don't need a referral.
