• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

I'm a fan of the Tour, but in recent years have been finding it harder and harder to watch because of the constant idiots on the side of the road. Throwing liquid over Froome because they didn't like Team Sky's domination, the woman who was prosecuted after her sign knocked down Tony Martin in 2021, Daniel Oss breaking his neck hitting a fan who was too close last year, then this today:

Yet you still see idiots crowding the riders, leaving them with a tiny lane to get through. I find myself unable to enjoy watching as I'm constantly thinking they're about to be knocked off their bikes. Crashes happen without fan involvement of course, but that's part of the sport.

Obviously they can't put barriers all the way along these massive stages, so is it too much to expect that people behave themselves? If it's all about being on TV, look at Cooperman's image in this thread. He's got his moment to remember and he's stood well back off the road, causing no issues whatsoever.

Apologies for the rant. :)

I am always surprised that there isn’t greater frequency of accidents towards the top of the climbs. It only takes one person to trip and they would all go over like a set of dominoes with the riders piling on top.

As for the people throwing bottles of pi55, criminal convictions should be handed out.

Perch was out there on the side of the road a couple of years ago.

Well……well……well
Not seen a performance like that since Landis in 2006 and we know what happened there.

Can’t get my head round that TT today.

Brutal stage again today, so hard to see a top rider really go into such a dark place, that last kick at the finish line was about as cruel as you could get.

Some of them were zig zagging up the last 500 metres to get some relief from the gradient. Says it all!

Brilliant post win interview by Mohoric today after a hell of a stage 45kmh average speed (30mph) on a bike over 172km on a “lumpy”stage.
