I'm a fan of the Tour, but in recent years have been finding it harder and harder to watch because of the constant idiots on the side of the road. Throwing liquid over Froome because they didn't like Team Sky's domination, the woman who was prosecuted after her sign knocked down Tony Martin in 2021, Daniel Oss breaking his neck hitting a fan who was too close last year, then this today:

Yet you still see idiots crowding the riders, leaving them with a tiny lane to get through. I find myself unable to enjoy watching as I'm constantly thinking they're about to be knocked off their bikes. Crashes happen without fan involvement of course, but that's part of the sport.
Obviously they can't put barriers all the way along these massive stages, so is it too much to expect that people behave themselves? If it's all about being on TV, look at Cooperman's image in this thread. He's got his moment to remember and he's stood well back off the road, causing no issues whatsoever.
