Travel plans for Saturday

Train ticket has gone up from £96 when I priced it last Saturday to £235 when I went to book it tonight. If I arrived at Wembley Station at 3.02pm the price goes back down to £96, Great Western Railway are robbing bar stewards. Booked Just Park Empire Way Carpark for £20 so the car it is then

There's only First class left. Train fares aren't like air fares, they are fixed prices.

They have limited trains in use, a reduced capacity and it's bank holiday weekend, I'd imagine that's why trains are hard to come by Saturday morning.

👍🏻

My recommendation for Saturday is to park in Denham Rail Station. It cost £4.50 to park at the station. The car journey from Swansea to Denham will take you roughly 3 hours. Do not confuse Denham Station with the smaller Denham Golf Course Station.

Trains from Denham Station run direct to Wembley Stadium Station, which is located behind our designated west end of the stadium. They run frequently. The best time to catch a train from Denham is at 1/4 past the hour and it takes 10 minutes. If there are 4 of you save money (£22.60 for 4) and it costs roughly a fiver each to travel to Wembley and back. There are plenty of trains available from Wembley Stadium Railway Station, after the match. The trains going towards Denham will also be less busy than the trains heading back into London.

There's loads of sites that you can Google, where folk rent their driveways
Or parking areas for the day. We've also used Q park not cheap (£30?) but there loads of car parks in
and around London, we've used the one underneath Hyde Park is massive, but maybe a bit too
Far out for Wembley, anyways their web site is worth a look.👍

£14 ... 6 minute walk the the ground.
(Before lockdown, used these sites whenever I was in London - one a month ish - always easy to use and reliable.)

I've just got a return, 0629 from Scum Central 1901 from Padd (to scum) 85 notes, not to bad

30 notes to park in London, Jesus, the world's gone mad

That's not too bad. Been doing some work on a site in Oxford St of & on during the last couple of months and paid £55 for a car park 20 minutes walk away carrying tools for the first 2 visits. Gave up doing that and took a PCN every time after that, £65 but only 60 seconds walk. 👍

Park in high Wycombe Chiltern line straight to stadium return 30 mins and back on m4 pronto

I live near Bromley but if I'm driving to Wembley I go to Ickenham and take the tube to Wembley. It's a shortish journey and you can park for free on street near the station. On the return you are just off M40/M25

Did this for the capital one cup final. Worked a treat.

With smaller attendance and covid restrictions on public transport, this time I'm going to drive and park near stadium. Not sure where yet.

This is it for me. Its a smaller crowd than our average league match so we are used to traffic at that level. Take out the fact that a good number will be on public transport and the two sets of fans leave generally about half hour apart the traffic in and around the ground will be more than manageable to just park close. I booked the official parking and decided to just get on with it.

If it was anything above 50% capacity I would be parking outside and taking public transport in but just don't see it is worth it on saturday

just done the same. See you there. won't miss us, we'll have our swans scarves on.

What's bizarre is the the official designated car park is the pink one, which is on the east (brentford) side of the stadium. So in terms of walking disctnce to my Entrance M, this is just as close and a tenner cheaper.

Mrs M wants to come to go to some art gallery or some such malarkey, so probably we’ll get there early and nip into the centre for lunch first. From what I’m reading, Uxbridge, Hillingdon or Ickenham is the favourite. I assume there will be extortionately priced beers available in the ground.

It's an option for people but be aware the last bus back from Wembley is 6pm. Extra time and penalties makes that a tough one...

And masks all the way up and back? Or am I behind the times?
