Tune For Today

Looking at the guys from the band maybe this would be more appropriate.

Saw these the other week. Great musicians, they did the Abbey Road album in its entirety. You could have heard a pin drop in the audience. I discovered them during the covid lockdowns. Some great YouTube videos.

As you say, class. If I had to pick my 80s top 10, this would be a shoo in. Superb song. Have you heard this extended version, I just love the atmospheric instrumental part at the beginning. Cool vid too 😎😎😎

Hmm, you've put me on the spot now I've mentioned a top 10, or rather I've put myself on the spot. My favourite 80s single is 'Broken Land' by the Adventures and after a bit of thought, I've narrowed it down to 16 but I don't want to post 16 videos on here, so if you really are interested, you can access the YouTube vids via this Dropbox link https://www.dropbox.com/s/v25i10llw6n94fu/Fave%2080s%20vids.pdf?dl=0 👍 Hope you enjoy 1 or 2 of them!

Nice one K. No 10 on your list is my current ring tone, some crackers on tbf. Love the TFF choice, what a tune. Some I dont know tbf, but probably will when in listen to them. I have a shift after the game. Cheers buddy.🙂👍

I’m a big It Bites fan, got most of their music and Francis Dunnery, the singer and guitarist of the band is very underrated. Also like TFF, have them on my playlist in the car.
👍

Thanks again K, enjoyed more than 1 or 2 on your list a few crackers there. To be fair you've done well to keep your top ten list down to 16🙂
I had a go the other night and my top 10 would be over 20 tunes.
Defo in my top list would be
Tears for fears. EWTRTW.
Talk Talk. Lifes what you make it (what a tune.. Hollis was so underrated.)
Level 42 Its over.
Crowded House. Dont dream it's over.
So much good stuff, I've probably forgotten half of it, YouTube is your best friend for digging up all those hidden treasures.👍

You're very welcome. Aye, very difficult to whittle it down to just 10. I did wonder how my list would compare with a list I might have done in December 1989, could well have been quite different as my musical tastes have evolved during the intervening 33 years. I have getting on for 4000 tracks on rotation in my car, kitchen, phone, tablet, on flights, etc comprising mostly complete albums from 1965-2022 but it does include something like 100-120 singles from the 80s at a guess, and I hear them all in a 12-14 month period. The ones I listed are the standouts for me and have definitely stood the test of time but it's quite possible I enjoy them more now than I did at the time! As for Hollis, great songwriter, RIP. If I was doing albums (which I could never limit to 10 so don't ask!), Colour of Spring right up there!
