Top left is Sir Karl Jenkins who will be celebrating his 80th birthday and the 75th anniversary of Swansea Jazz Club at the Swansea International Jazz Festival in June.

Many years ago got talking to Keith Hodge in Llanelli, he intoduced himself in polite conversation. No idea who he was but after a while the small talk got around to music of that time period , the very early 70s .

He claimed he had done the drumming on Can the Can by Suzi Quatro , maybe a dream he had .

Tinternet was way out of reach way back then but that conversation festered me for years .
Found ot later it was true , it was him but all went under the radar at that time , tidy guy too .

More name dropping , Terry WIlliams in The Duke pub bottom end of Morriston before a game at The Liberty , got chatting , another tidy chap

I waffled on about Dire Straits and gossip back then , he was more concerned about the Swans and how they were doing .

There’s a Jimi Hendrix music evening on Saturday featuring a great guitarist Denny Illet and backed by a big band at Swansea International Jazz Festival, if you’re into Jimi.
