Sheehan’s reaction when Vip bashed his goal in last night was very telling as he looked up to the stands.
I noticed that too. Almost gauging the feel from the crowd. Who knows.

But all we want from a striker is for them to put goals away. He's had 2 in 2, so let's hope this is somewhat a corner turned. I wont hold my breath on that one though.

That just looks like someone to me who was surprised by the thunderbolt and was looking at the crowd also enjoying it? Mangers do that all the time when a worldie is scored, can see him puff his cheeks at end to kind of confirm he also thought it was unreal.

Think this may be read into a bit too much.

🤣. The one comment stood out to me. " Looked the same to me...like he was looking at the Director's box and thinking, now how do we tell him he's off tomorrow!"
Yeah but we can’t say “we are selling you to ……..” and that’s that. He has power in this situation and could just say he’s going to see out his contract .
Perhaps Sheehan was saying “we only need one now not two strikers “.

As good a goal as that was last evening, and i for one am pleased for the lad, his all round game still needs improving, to fit into the way we are trying to play and for me thats down to him keeping his head down and work on it for every ones benifit

I agree, have said for a while he needs a good run in the team and actual service. But I can also see the other side of the coin whereby Sheehan is looking for an out and out pressing striker, which he is not. Feel for the lad as he is younger than most people realise as well.

We still need to bring a striker in as neither of them are good enough, but in the meantime it's no contest as to who should start on Saturday. Vip has scored two goals. Cullen hasn't scored at all and hasn't looked like scoring. No brainer.

Let's not get carried away at his two goals, as encouraging as they are. Look at the defending for the goal on Saturday, all four defenders ball watching, not a single one of them keeping an eye on the Swans players in their box until it's too late with Vipi in position, with space to head home. Takes it well though and decent movement in the box, but he's not scoring that against a switched on defence with better communication. Last night, zero pressure on him but a decent strike nonetheless, but space he wouldn't be afforded against better opposition. Even if he was firing on all cylinders we'd need another striker in, as Cullen is in no way a number 9, he's a number 10 and is more in competition with our attacking midfield options, somewhere ahead of Olli Cooper in the queue.

Well that’s bollocks sorry. The way we tried to play last night, especially in the second half, was appalling. I expected us better from this manager and it’s not down to Vip or any other striker to polish that turd.

Cullen looks like a player who has lost his confidence. Even when he has it, he isn't all that. But I get a feeling he will start on Saturday. VP for all his faults deserves at least a start. He got hardly any service last night and looks like he has point to prove.
