Vipi

Not really. Not in the same way Piroe or Scotland used to, where they'd drop deep, come inside and pop one in the top corner out of nothing.

Vip has a very powerful shot and is generally reliable if given chances in the penalty area, but that's about it really. That's not a criticism, just an honest observation.
You do seem to have a bit of a personal vendetta against him let’s be honest. You do see it amongst Swans supporters now and then, some seem for whatever reason to take a dislike against a player and lay it on a bit thick/lose some perspective to try to save face. Given he’s one of the leading championship goalscorers, isn’t guaranteed to play as many minutes as other locked in forwards at other clubs, his age and contract status… to suggest he could go for 3m is really weird mate particularly given our lack of attacking options. I really cannot understand why any Jack would want that to happen. Genuinely really puzzled. Sell a leading goal scorer in the league and rely on Cullen on Idah and roll the dice in January on 3m when we aren’t setting the world alight. You do…want the club to succeed? I’m sorry but I have to ask these questions

If he hadn't had that perfectly legitimate goal against Brum ruled out, he'd currently be the joint second highest goal scorer in the division so far this season.

With no penalties. For a club not exactly pulling up trees and creating a shedload of chances.
He's a guaranteed 15+ goal a season striker at this level. Not sure what more we want really

I think he needs to actually score 15+ goals in a season at least once to even suggest he's 'guaranteed' to do so, but I do see where you're coming from as regards some people seeming happy for us to sell him on the cheap.

Fair point

Vip has been fantastic for us and Idah is doing a fine job too.

Something weird about our fans writing off strikers for not scoring when they’re not playing, and then claiming that they’ve turned a corner when they finally get on the pitch and score. We’ve seen it over and over.

Odd bunch of bastards we are.

Selling VIP right now will be madness. As simple as that, unless we have some serious issues with the Fair Play regulations, and even then it should be a double figures number.

Our real problem is our next top scorer ( Ronnie ) is 61st on the list whilst Cov have 5 players between our top two even Norwich have 3. If Vip was sold, a) he wont be b) we wouldn't replace him, we'd be fuked.

We shouldn’t be selling anyone in January unless we’re talking truly crazy money. It’s the reason we’ve started giving players 4 year deals, it gives us breathing space to not be pressured into any deal.

If we’re talking purely about selling for the most value then it makes sense to wait until the summer for Vipotnik so we can use his full goal tally in any negotiation. I wouldn’t be selling him in the summer either by the way but if we were forced to then I think we’d likely get more in the summer than now.

I've never met the bloke in my life, so how can I have a "personal vendetta" against him is beyond me.

I could counter your jibe about some Swans fans taking a dislike to a player with how some Swans fans go completely OTT over a player who scores a once in a lifetime worldie, but does very little else (*cough Franco cough*) but we could do that all day couldn't we.

I've been pleasantly surprised by how he's come along this season and he's done quite well, I'm quite happy if he stays until the summer, but I just don't think he's as good as some people want to make out. It's as simple as that really.

Some people are throwing about £10m. That's hilarious to me. He's a perfectly ok Championship striker, but never in a million years is he worth that kind of money imo. I'll happily stick with my £3m valuation, would take that all day long with a few add ons.

What I meant is I think you’re unduly critical of him, particularly given the lack of game time he had last season and how he’s even had to struggle a bit for minutes this season despite the amount of goals he has scored. He can score screamers, score from tight angles facing away from goal and he has scored some ‘poacher’ goals in his time here particularly last season and let’s not forget the goal against Forest in the cup. He has also shown himself in my opinion to be really hungry lately, you can see his confidence having grown and he really gets at defenders/put himself in good positions because he just wants to score. There’s no need to sell him for 3m and roll the dice in January as 3m isn’t that much in this league and I just can’t see how that’s an acceptable valuation given his age and contract situation. That would be a ridiculous business decision given our attacking alternatives. I’m not saying I think he’s other worldly I just think it would be really daft to sell him for 3m given where we are and your apparent keenness to sell him for such a paltry number makes me wonder. 5/6m maybe, but I’d still worry about getting someone in who can continue his goal scoring. Come the end of the season if we stay up then it’s a different conversation but to sell now at 3m? I think you’re putting your own disdain above the interests of the club

I think you are under valuing him with your valuation.
I am sure I could find a few examples to counter your view but one that comes to mind quickly is Charlie Kelman. Kelman signed for Charlton in the summer for 3.5M rising to 5M after scoring over 20 goals in league 1 and now has 2 goals in over 15 games in the champ, Kelman is also older than Vipotnik by a few months.
Vipotnik is certainly closer in value to 10M than 3M for sure given his age, contract length at Swansea and the level he is scoring his goals.

There is no disdain, I just don't see the player you see at the value you place on him, and I don't think I'm alone in that by any means. He's an ok player who has improved this season and has done ok for us, and I hope he continues to do so for as long as he is here.
