• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Isn’t the point that the car is doing the driving?
I can see it now, you're on a nice long drive, heating on, watching a film and you nod off, and the system fails and you're supposed to take control, I mean wtf. As daft ideas go, this is right up there.😂
This taking technology to a new level of stupid.

I suppose the next logical step is to legislate gents (or ladies) to pleasure themselves with the occasional 'hand-shandy' whilst looking at a bit of XVideos or YouPorn or "Debbie Does Dallas" at 70mph!

I worked in the commercial motor insurance industry for years and spent my latter period working on the implications for the industry regarding self driving cars.

Whilst I can see clever people can devise systems to control cars, no one could ever persuade me how such vehicles could safely be introduced alongside conventional cars. The UK fleet will contain a mixture of vehicles for years to come. I used to cite the real life example of a driver on a motorway spotting idiots on an over bridge dropping blocks onto cars below. A human could spot this and take some action, but I was never convinced a self driving car could.

I used to regularly see a white van man watching tv on his mobile whilst driving along the M4. The amount of people texting/talking on their phones whilst driving is astonishing.

Years ago you were allowed to drive after lots and lots of booze......that never caused issues did it???
