• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

We want the fans to have a team they can be proud of…

The Swans pre-season continued yesterday with a 5-0 win over Swindon Town at Fairwood as the work in progress of the new coaching set up at the club continued with Martin Paterson stating that the game plan was coming together. Goals from Wood, Piroe, Cullen and two from Josh Thomas told the story of...

I can count the number of games under Martin when the football really excited me and I felt proud of our performances on the fingers of one hand. A few of the derbies (while conscious that we were playing the worst Cardiff team in years - anyone who disputes that is a fool) and that’s about it. Mostly I felt sorry for players who were clearly not enjoying their football and embarassed at what we had become.

So I could not be more pleased to hear what Paterson said. I haven’t been this excited at the start of a season for a long time - and if we end up mid table I honestly won’t care as long as we give it 100% and play with passion! Proud to be a Swan - again!!!

PS all the BS about ‘Martin can’t have lost the dressing room because of all the players who turned up to his leaving do’. First, hardly anyone said he had lost the whole dressing room, but his gaslighting and favouritism did lose individual players and none of them were there except Pato who strikes me as a lovely bloke who wouldn’t know a gaslight if he sat on one. ‘Players turn up for free drinks with their teammates’. Shock horror!

‘We are working really hard to improve the group’ – too right, after Martin destroyed our key differentiators- stoic defence, the will to win, never say die attitude and collective commitment.

If Duff&Co can fix what Martin broke, give us back what Martin took away, get players playing in their rightful positions, get the right pegs in the right shaped gaping chasms created by Martin, most proper fans will be delighted.

A seismic shift away from Martinball and back to Cooperball ++, owners investing hard earned $, a proper management team playing proper football…..where winning is our aim…. Fans will be back in their droves.

Completely agree with Chuck and the positivity is definitely spreading through the fanbase. The appointment of Duff appears to be one of the most solid ones we have made for a decade or so and the players coming in look good additions. Roll on the start of the season

My biggest problem with Martin was that everybody else could see what was wrong except for him. If we had moved the ball forwards more quickly and increased the movement in front of the ball, we would have experienced a higher level of success . Hopefully, Duff and Co can deliver – it does seem that there has been a comprehensive restructuring of the club, this can only improve things- fingers-crossed!
