West Brom Points Deduction???

We probably would have said that last season about Leicester, Southampton and Ipswich. Although I still think 2 of those 3 will go back up.
I would have said that about Leicester but not Southampton or Ipswich. I also wouldn't have thought such an ordinary team as Coventry with such an average squad and manager would be up there either, so yeah, anything could happen. I think this season has been an outlier, but who knows. I thought the two American Razamatazz clubs from League 1 would have done better than they have given their momentum. They'll be a force next season too, maybe with better managers and more expensive players.

For next year, I just think Wolves will be very strong despite tanking in the PL, and Burnley have a top notch championship squad not good enough for the PL that just is built to go up and down. Spurs might very well be the least likely as they'd be in total disarray, and really would be 'everyone's cup final'. But, much as I'd love to see them or West Ham drop, I think it'll be Florist that ends up coming down despite the current hysteria around N17, and they are more likely to do a Burnley.

I expect us to mount a challenge for at least the new play off of 8th (I'd hope a bit higher), but I just can't see us getting past these sort of clubs to win through. I hope Southampton and Ipswich do go up this year, or our chances diminish further.

I don't see Coventry as average ,
They have been building a squad capable of making the playoffs .
Last 3 seasons finished 5th , 9th , 5th reaching the playoffs twice losing once in the Final the other in the Semi Final .
They have scored way more goals than any other team whilst conceding less .

Wish we were an average team like Coventry
They have recruited well so no real surprise to see them on top .

They finished 5th last season and the three relegated PL teams all looked in a good position to go straight back up when the season started. I think even the most optimistic Coventry fan would admit to some surprise that they're top of the table and certain to go up.

Quite simply, Lampard has done a cracking job there.
I didn’t think Lampard was the best appointment they could have made at the time. Not surprised he didn’t stay at Chelsea given that they never keep a manager for very long. Thought he would have done a bit better at Everton so when Coventry gave him the job I didn’t expect them to do half as well as they have. Fair play to them.
