Swansea City are being linked with a move for West Ham United winger Armstrong Oko-Flex as reports surfaced close to the London club today. Oko-Flex joined West Ham in 2021 and is highly regarded at the London Stadium although they do believe that he would benefit from some regular first team football....

Wow. I’ve heard he’s electric.
Bit of a bright spark apparently.
It would be good to see him powering down the wing.

Reading West Ham fans opinions of him atleast gives us some hope. Sounds very promising and a player that can actually, you know, run for a change.

I don't know the financials of this deal, maybe WH are covering most of his wages and aren't expecting a fee but, this is another contradiction of what the hierarchy of the club have publicly stated - moving away from the loan model, developing our own assets etc. We have Garrick and Whittaker who play in the same position as this guy and are far more experienced.

Not a knock on this guy at all, he seems very promising (although I don't know where we'll play him), just a nod to the muddled approach from the club.

Republic of Ireland under 21 manager Jim Crawford raved about Armstrong who has scored twelve goal for the under 23’s at West Ham last season. “He’s a player that will make people get off their seats. He entertains you, is good at one-on-one situations, creates opportunities for his team-mates and himself. He’s what people buy tickets for. He’s an exciting player and has a bright future ahead of him. The coaches at West Ham have been fantastic for Armstrong,” he tells The Athletic. “The way he’s been playing for the club has been really positive. We’ve had John O’Shea look at him and Alan Reynolds, our goalkeeping coach. We wanted to get as many eyes on him as possible. He’s the one to look out for. I’m just excited about his potential.”

To be fair though Garrick and Whittaker can’t even start in their League 1 loans, also Cooper never fancied either of them as well.

True, but then why was Whittaker signed at all (didn't exactly have a great record at Derby) and Garrick given a new contract? Garrick did actually have 40 odd games and over 10 assists / goals last season, so not sure what more he could do.

Again just further proof of a lack of joined up thinking at the club.

Exactly considering we have very little to spend year on year we don’t half waste money, very frustrating, I thought Garrick would be given a chance this year.

Honestly I would be pretty happy if we got this and either Cundle or Brameh over the line.
Attacking midfield and the wings/wingbacks are where we are seriously lacking pace and craft at the moment.
