What are you having Xmas day?

my annual visit to Waitrose in Monmouth went by the wayside as our annual trip to Newark (which also has a Waitrose) was off due to them being in tier 3.

Waitrose in Caldicot has closed now :( Wife works nearby and they often used to have very good deals there as no one could afford their normal prices and there was an ASDA right next door.

Asda is good if you’re going on a diet. You can buy as much Asda food as you like, but you can’t eat it cos you can’t get into the packaging.

All jokes aside, I will be doing the same this Christmas as I have done every Christmas...

I took my shotgun and sourced myself a pheasant flying over Penlan common three weeks ago, it has been hanging in the outhouse ever since.
Myself and my wife will go to bed early on Christmas eve after having an egg nog nightcap, and be up by 6am on Christmas day to prepare and serve said fowl with a selection of seasonal vegetables, followed by a traditional "figgy pud"

Turkey and Honey glazed gammon ham.
The ham to be cooked Christmas Eve, it will last at least through Boxing Day.
The turkey gravy will also be made on Christmas Eve, it’s a Jamie Oliver recipe and it’s really worth making.

Jamie Oliver, bankrupt tw*t who blags himself as a chef.. good luck with the grub.

I think I'll might have covid in a few days time, unless it f*cks off in the next couple of days

F*ck all now Dick by the look of it. Had booked the Celtic Manor but that's gone tits up now (taking 45 days to return our cash that they've had since early November too, the cowboys). If I'm lucky it'll be an M&S nutroast with a hefty dash of chilli oil applied by me. And sprouts. Love sprouts. But no parsnips. Horrible bastards, can fool you by looking like spuds and then....f*cking YUCK. Hate parsnips.

You love sprouts and hate parsnips...are you mad!

No idea what we are having. Not turkey, ideally.

I will pop to a supermarket on Tuesday or Wednesday and see what they have. Failing that I will knock a curry together

The uncertainty is quite nice.

Do the curry and when I awake from my drunken slumber some time on Boxing day I'll come down yours and assist with the leftovers. :)
