He fecking walked out on us(With one season left on his contract) because he couldn't get a job elsewhere and we weren't prepared to throw money we don't have about. It's a two way street,I think he'll regret walking, away all of football will see through what he's done.
If someone wants you to do a job but won't give you the tools to do that job why would you stay? If you know things are going downhill would you stay?
If you knew your employer was making cuts and you could be out of a job in the next few months would you hang around? No you wouldn't
JoshTheJack said:Thing is his performance decides wether he'd get sacked or not,Not the finances. He had two season of parachute payments and he knew before he came in we're a selling club(who isn't outside the top 6-8 in the Prem).SwansFan1912 said:If someone wants you to do a job but won't give you the tools to do that job why would you stay? He didn't stay on beacuse he didn't get us promoted quite petty don't you think.Plenty of our managers pre Prem had far less backing than he's had.We rolled over in a play off final then he complains about not being backed,Were backing him to the best our finances can afford if it's not enough for him good riddance.

You're falling into the common trap there of comparing jobs in football to 'real world jobs'. If you think about it for a minute, you'll realise that jobs in football (and other professional sports) are vastly different to other jobs in many ways.

Yes ... they're far more volatile and don't have any security what so ever. Your in the public eye and your reputation is everything. Especially as a young manager new to the game. Why should he potentially screw up his career for a club whos fans have shown him nothing but hostility despite success and overachieving on both occasions. Delusional

Very good with young players apparently.
I'd rather have a debt free club than give some uninspiring identikit manager a sum of money we don't have when there's no guarantee it will be a success,I'm glad the Americans are running it the way they are.SwansFan1912 said:JoshTheJack said:Thing is his performance decides wether he'd get sacked or not,Not the finances. He had two season of parachute payments and he knew before he came in we're a selling club(who isn't outside the top 6-8 in the Prem).

Have Swansea fans got Stockholm Syndrome or something? We've gone from holding our owners to account and giving them what we think, with their siphoning of funds to just rolling over and not really caring when all the warning signs are there.
People saying that the club backed the manager, give over. Absolute joke
If we had finished 10th last season with the style of play we fantasise then the fans would be seething and demanding to know whats going on, calling for Winter and the owners heads. DC United are splashing cash on a brand new training ground and massive sponsorship deals. Meanwhile not only are we not bying players to even come close to a play off challenge , but we are defunding the academy which is the only reason we have made any money or got players over the last few years. This time last year the academy was about to effectively close and we were selling the training ground facility back to the uni.
Wait until December and see just how perilous the situation is. Given how little support the club gave when we were in the automatic promotion spots, imagine how little support the club are going to give the manager when we aren't pushing for promotion.

Makes sense. He’ll need to be good with the ones coming through the U23s, as we don’t seem too fussed on making many new signings.

I'm unhappy about their general lack of interest in us ,But were not locally owned anymore,Aslong as there are football clubs there will be people who try make money off them,My crumb of comfort is that thier plan backfired and they're unlikely to get their investment back.
They're being responsible and it benefits all of us in the long run.We kept a player who was probably earning more than the next two players combined to give us a chance.I don't like the Americans never have but they have always spent whats available.
