Obviously we want to finish as high up as possible, but I’ve seen posts saying that they’d accept relegation to give Martin time to get us back to ‘The Swansea Way’ (passing, possession - you know the score). What would you accept?

I thought a point was a bonus from the last two games, Sheffield and stoke will be in the top 6 at the end , expect us to stay up , but only just

Whatever it takes to get the club into a position where we can compete for promotion back to the Premier League within a few seasons. If we have to get relegated for that to happen then so be it.

There's no way that relegation should be acceptable, we don't appoint a new manager with a view to accepting relegation. That's absolutely bonkers.

It's all relative to how good (poor) our squad is though, isn't it?

It absolutely is, and on the evidence of the first 3 games this squad is relegation material. We weren't prolific in front of goal with ayew bailing us out week in week out, but where his goals are coming from is anyone guess ,there's no goals in midfield either so things are not looking good. Ask the likes of Sunderland, Portsmouth, Ipswich or Charlton if relegation has helped benefitted their clubs.

No - relegation isn't a guaranteed fix by any stretch of the imagination and it should be something that we go into the season accepting by any means.

However, if that's the only way out of this mess, even if it takes years to rectify then so be it. Personally I think unless we sign 3 or 4 more players, relegation is a very real certainty. I just hope we can get those players in before the window closes, move a couple on and then do similar in January.

Never happy losing or being relegated but it is what Southampton did.

Doubt a double relegation was part of their 'plan'

Those even contemplating a relegation as an acceptable compromise need their heads examined.

I think staying in the league is a must, anhthing more than that is a bonus.
A year of playing in a new system and time to bring in players that fit.
Can have a proper go at it next season with a solid base to work off.

Yes, totally agree ... not every team that drops down to League One makes an immediate return, if at all !

Let's give RM a couple of months to get his process going and the squad to be improved / get fitter and we'll hopefully start picking up enough points to get us out of the relegation zone. There are plenty of crap teams in this league for us to target points.

Based on performances so far can you add a further category of “Coco the Clown, Cream Pies and midgets being fired from cannons”?

So we lose 3 players and all of a sudden the squad is relegation fodder?
woodman many didnt rate and Benda does appear an upgrade
Geuhi was slated when he first came and we have replaced him with Cooper who had rave reviews at Newport
Houihane most agredd was a waste of a shirt
Ayew big loss but not the end of the world could sometimes be too selfish and we didnt always miss him when he wasnt playing!!!
