While the same people who believed Farage when he said Brexit would solve illegal immigration still believe him when he says he'll now solve illegal immigration if Reform are voted into power. Which is quite the mind trick when you see how Brexit has clearly made the situation far worse.Interesting article in the Telegraph about how Boris Johnson's brexit enabled immigration to explode with more immigrants coming to the UK than going to the USA.
Yeah but then you read the views of incessant thickies like Wing Stand and realise it’s not such a mind trick after all. While the same people who believed Farage when he said Brexit would solve illegal immigration still believe him when he says he'll now solve illegal immigration if Reform are voted into power. Which is quite the mind trick when you see how Brexit has clearly made the situation far worse.
Our people have never been so thick and easy to fool. You’ve only got to read this thread, let alone venture onto Twitter. While the same people who believed Farage when he said Brexit would solve illegal immigration still believe him when he says he'll now solve illegal immigration if Reform are voted into power. How do you explain this to people who have been brainwashed?Interesting article in the Telegraph about how Boris Johnson's brexit enabled immigration to explode with more immigrants coming to the UK than going to the USA.
It is indeed absolutely pointless, The dam has burst. How do you explain this to people who have been brainwashed?
They associate people who support EU as left wing and woke.
When actually left wingers eg Corbyn are anti EU and the EU is the biggest market economy in the World … market economy.
Preaching to converted in main but if I makes one person think then I’ll try once again.
When we were in EU we had returns agreements. Not a farridge style one that will cost a fortune. A free solution that allowed for individuals to be returned.
More fundamentally however we had freedom of movement. This meant UK Nationals could live abroad for as long as they liked and EU Nationals could do the same. This meant we had a pool of young labour ready and willing to work. They paid tax, they filled vacancies they helped the economy grow which meant MORE jobs for everyone else.
When we left the EU we lost FOM which meant we lost OUR rights and we pivoted to the “rest of the world” which meant filling vacancies from people from the other side of the World. What is the consequence of this? Older workers with families. The latter needing more public services and in many cases not working. Therefore a net drain on the economy (unless the breadwinner is earning a massive salary or investing capital) compared to EU migration which was an overwhelming positive as it was mobile, young and much lower in number….. as they tended to be single people. Also as a result of Brexit the EU migrants were given settled status which meant many stayed when invariably they would have gone home in the old system.
Now I’m bored. It’s pointless isn’t it.
Stop the boats
I’ve been warning Labour supporters about this for years and written off as a no nothing Tory boy. The woke stuff has killed the traditional left off and the vacuum has been filled by a more purist conservative vehicle. Which of course makes zero sense to their own individual circumstances but here we are.It is indeed absolutely pointless, The dam has burst.
The working class now hate Labour! The middle class now hate Labour with each and every passing budget and with each and every passing day. The black hole gets wider and wider.
Add to that, polling that now suggests that giving votes to 16-17 year old's will fail.
Labour are a one term government, it'll be a case of NEVER again and NOT "another five years of this" from terrified middle class savers and property owners, who have had the decency to save, buy a nice house, have an ISA, buy shares and have a private pension etc.
Reform U.K is getting stronger and stronger, with it's distractors and enemies demanding that the electoral system now be changed.
More flags WILL fly. more protests WILL crop up, more songs of Kier Starmer is a w*****r WILL be heard, more car horns out of working class thoroughfares WILL get pressed. It's unstoppable!
It's staggering, its unprecedented, its historic!
The budget is going to be extremely interesting, NOT just for how the middle class is likely to be hit, BUT for the way the markets and currency speculators react.I’ve been warning Labour supporters about this for years and written off as a no nothing Tory boy. The woke stuff has killed the traditional left off and the vacuum has been filled by a more purist conservative vehicle. I go back to it I’ll be fine just like many were under Thatcher and many thrived under thatcher but still loathed the individualistic mentality. The patriots will suffer. They’re overwhelmingly either in low paid jobs or unemployed (yes I’m being stereotypical but I’m pretty sure I’m correct) the former will be destroyed by robotics (the real issue to them) and the latter is impacted more by their own choices.
Bottom line is as you say the horse has bolted. We are done now. Facts don’t matter anymore. For instance the current Labour Cabinet are all state educated and have moved on from the woke stuff but the legacy has done them. Welsh Labour well…. Beyond hopeless.
I just don’t want these patriots crying when this Country shifts to the right and turns into a rich mans play pen with still high levels of immigration (yes that will happen) because the rest of us will be bloody angry.
I don’t think so as although this Gov have hit business they’ve been fiscally conservative in the sense they’re looking at balanced budgets. The Market has reacted badly when there’s been concerns related to movement on borrowing. But they seem resolute on sticking to balanced budgets. The budget is going to be extremely interesting, NOT just for how the middle class is likely to be hit, BUT for the way the markets and currency speculators react.
I am not into Forex trading, because I reckon imo, I could be up against a rigged-system where the big-boys and their computer systems/networks can react in micro-seconds to news/movements, whilst also knowing what is happening from the inside, and where all the money is going, and all in an instant.
Budget day could be absolute carnage for the Pound. I will be watching the stock market also. Interesting times indeed. To think that some people think that short-selling of stocks is a bad thing? Wait for the currency wide-boys to pile in, if they choose to.
