I live in Cardiff and need to find somewhere to watch the South Wales Derby but have no plans to watch in one of the local pubs.
I am guessing I need to look at Bridgend or beyond.
Where would you suggest to watch it with some fellow Jacks?!

Which is the obvious answer, and the correct one. If you can get to Bridgend then get the train to Swansea. I live in East London and am seriously thinking of doing that myself.

Seriously? You'd go to all that effort yet you wouldn't entertain getting a ticket for the game?

I'm thinking of turning my telly on and inviting a few glue sniffing roiders around to create the same atmosphere I had in my seat at the Lib last year.

Bridgend used to be quite good a few years ago, but I can't remember what the pub was I used to go to now. From Cardiff though, surely Swansea on the choo choo is the answer?

Anyone planning to watch in a London pub? There used to be a Jack-friendly in Covent Garden that showed games. Not sure if that's a thing any more...

Think it was the Hercules Pillars on Long Acre, although the Lamb & Flag has been used for Planet Swans gatherings and the Chandos for the old Guestbook London Jacks, and they are both Covent Garden too.

I would be very careful getting a train back to Swansea on the premise you'll be able to see the game nearby.

A few years ago there was a SW derby at 5:30 and all the pubs on Wind St and around the city centre refused to show it, presumably worried about violence.

If you're willing to risk it and head further out of town you might get some joy but I wouldn't cash in your chips on the expectation that you'll be able to watch it somewhere near the train station.

Good luck and hope you get to see it, whatever you decide.

I don’t suppose anyone can recommend a bar in Catania, Sicily? 8-)

Hercules Pillars has turned into a trendy bar and restaurant apparently.
