Positivity is flying around the club at the minute, how is everyone feeling going into the new season?

Most teams' fans always expect to improve at this time of the season including us. As usual we finished mid-table and like the Baron I'm expecting 9th or 10th.

I'm hoping we'll be in or around the play-offs at some parts of the season, but I doubt we'll sustain it to the end. 11th.

I have a good feeling about us this year and the number of clubs that stand head and shoulders above the rest is lower than there has been for about four or five years. Leicester are struggling due to threats of points deductions and transfer embargos, Ipswich struggling to keep the squad together and Southampton are a mess from a morale/confidence perspective.

Sheff Utd failed to go up last season and have had to trim their cloth a little bit but I still expect them to be there or thereabouts. The teams who go up and hit the playoffs this year will be the ones who manage to get consistency in the league that is consistently inconsistent.

I am going to go for a punt and say that Sheehan will get the lads to the playoffs. We have recruited well and recruited early, a few spots in the squad need padding out but so far its all good news.

I like the way we're shaping up defensively but as things stand our central midfield is too thin. I'm sure we will address that to a greater or lesser extent before the season starts, but for that reason I can't see higher than mid-table, perhaps just sneaking into the top half.

A lot will ride on how much cop Wales is. We haven't had a decent striker for two seasons. We need him to be scoring goals if we're to have a good season.

I think 8th to 10th would be good progress especially sorting out our home form.

A risk factor is if Sheehan hits a bad patch of form and how he digs us out of it.

I don’t see 8th to 10th as much progress from the season just ended when we finished 11th with Williams in charge for most of it.

So what is your realistic prediction on a league position finish?

For me we are going into a new season with quite a few team changes again and hopefully a fruitful season under Sheehan.

Too early for me to make a call on.
Will hold back until August/September.

I like to think I'm quite realistic so a solid mid table as things stand.....hopefully expectations rise a bit more over the next few months with solid additions to bolster the squad as a whole.

Heart says play offs, head says mid-table.

As for winning the league , bookmakers offering odds of 40/1 on Swans to win league ( 12/1 to get promoted). Ipswich 9/4 favourites to win league , Wrexham 20/1, least favourite are Oxford 150/1.

5th comfortably.
Andrew. Not much riding on Wales. We are in the market for a striker.
Think MF will be sorted too

Great if all that transpires Martyn - but we have had a recent history of early activity in windows followed by inertia towards the end, so I'm not counting my chickens.

As always - we'll only really know where we are come the first week in September.

I hope you're right, because relying on a 20-year old with 3 career goals in the Scottish Premiership to be our main goalscorer would be madness. If no striker is signed, I think the hope will be that Vipotnik goes up a gear or two from last season rather than relying on Wales.

My prediction is the same as yours but I wouldn’t describe it as good progress to finish one or two places above last season which was largely poor.
