Not like I m defending him, I think there is a balance. I would of liked us to have more control in second half. So I get half of that statement. But as I mentioned, if you are gonna be in a team who has a lot of possession, then do something with it. Williams and Martin, was all out passing back. and holding it for holding it. Im more than happy to move on from possession, if it means we show as much intent as we have been. Unless It's an odd debate really isn't it, but hey, Win is a winWell, according to our DOF it's the foundation of our identity and a requirement for any managerial candidate to play that way...
The chances we created were pretty good. Probably scored from the most difficult. Not like I m defending him, I think there is a balance. I would of liked us to have more control in second half. I'm just happy I see Sheehan encouraging players to go forward and Cabango being vocal on the pitch. VP looks like a different player, his hold up play is good. I could g onTakes certain type of player and coach to nail all that. Till then, play to our strengths, which we have last few weeks.
Not brain surgery.

I agree. But think we have had fair few average teams at home, but Williams set out team up to play boring, slow football and made teams look better than they was. I was just happy to see Morgan Whittaker perform average at best today. Another one of those players I despise. For many reasonsTheir possession was like ours was under Russy, all across their back four. They were a dreadful side, probably the worst team I’ve seen down here this year.
Average is doing a lot of heavy lifting there.I agree. Get the spine right, then you can play as you like as you have control. We built our best possession style on a good defence (outstanding Ash) and a strong midfield (outstanding Leon), plus the likes of big Jase and SS/ND/WR/Michu to do spectacular things. The point is, get the spine right and you get the ball, respect and space to play in. The Spine Willy and Russbot tried it with simply shat themselves when pressed. As a fanbase we're certainly in a better position than most to discern good possession football (e.g. Brendan R) and bad possession football (e.g. Williams). If you do any style of football well, you can win with it. I'd just rather club leadership stop paying lip-service to what they think we want to hear about possession and just talk about building a winning culture, whatever shape that takes.

Got to stop all the 'buy strikers, buy strikers' nonsense until we get those basics right. You don't buy a 20 goal striker, you provide the conditions for a striker to score 20 goals.
