• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

May 9th, Widell is being chased by English clubs: "Of course it's interesting"

Now he is being linked with a move to England and he tells Football Channel how his thoughts are going.

– It's fun to get noticed. It's just interest so far, this early most teams are looking at data and stuff.

– It's clear that English football and the Championship are interesting. It might suit me, I told HD (Helsingborgs Dagblad) that too.

AS you all can probably tell. I really want to see this guy in our team. Casper Widell

I am growing increasingly keep on him
Casper and Melker Widell together would certainly not make us any weaker (in fact its hard to be weaker when we have one centre half at the club right now)

Having both Widells could make the transition and settling in easier for both.

Not sure on the ability of Casper though

Is Casper any good? Coming from the second division of the Dutch leagues.

Excelsior were in the top div last season. Eredevise. This season going straight back up in 2nd. He was signed to play in the Eredevise and did last season so.

Center Half. Scored a hat trick last week. When was the last time a center half did that.

Take a look at his highlights reel. Comfortable ball player, superb passing range, last ditch tackles. 6ft 3. approx 150 1st team appearances at 21 years of age. That takes some doing by the age of 21

Wyn can probably find some stats on him

Happy to oblige.

7.2 average Fotmob rating, which is very good. Good all round stats. Best in league for aerial duels and blocks. Also very good long ball accuracy. Tackling stats a bit weak (although duels good), as is his pass accuracy. Touches in opposition box good, and also chances created.

A remarkably similar profile to Darling, apart from the passing stats, which he would need to improve. I'd be happy if we signed him, although we could do with an experienced option as well. Perhaps a Premier League oldie for a season, to help Widell and Low bed in, should Darling depart.

You've sold him to me. Hopefully our Adam is watching with close intent!

Casper Widell's last game of the season today. His team got auto promo back to the eredevise. Excelsior.

Word is that the cancelled Coleman/Luke flight to Holland in the January window may have been him.
Why are we aggressively recruiting from Excelsior?

First Tjoe-A-On, then Couhaib Driouech which fell through, now Widell.

One keen scout or a healthy working relationship with the Dutch club?
