Aren’t they generating for the grid? I think you could have your own, subject to planning permission, so I wouldn’t be surprised if some farms have them, really not sure. I don’t have an issue with them though if it comes down to least bad choice at environmental level.

Yes and that will be excellent, but isn't there an issue with how we store electricity? Have I heard that the aren't enough resources to make sufficient numbers of batteries for EVs to satisfy demand? I'm not an expert so might be talking rubbish

The lack of serious use of tidal power is baffling in an island nation. I'd be looking a hell of a lot more at that rather than covering the landscape with wind turbines, which are unreliable.

I don’t understand why they don’t use tidal.

And solar, and wind. All need to be developed and used as much as possible. The efficiency of the wind turbines and solar now is incredible compared to just a few years ago. And that new generation of solar which will be just a flexible sheet almost like cling film that can be wrapped onto anything is amazing. Partly developed at Swansea University I think.

Solar generating capacity should have been a requirement for any new build property for the last 25 years or so. It was decent enough when I was working for a solar heating company in the late 90's. By now it should be much improved.

Wind for me should mostly be restricted to offshore developments. The offshore expertise certainly exists after nearly 60 years of North Sea oil extraction.

Wind produced over 20% of our energy the past year, not to be sniffed at. Compare that to less than 1.5% produced by hydro.

We need to be building nuclear plants now, not in 5 or 10 years time.

Don't disagree about Nuclear. In the absence of Fusion it's probably the best option.
