• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

The World Cup hasn’t been worth watching since the 90’s.
Quite true Dar. I enjoyed 86 and 1990 immensely. Even without Wales being there. But 1994 in the US was shite and we should have qualified. 1998 was great also. I enjoyed that one. 2002 was crap with kick off times being in the middle of the night and in the morning whilst I was in work. 2006 wasn’t too bad in Germany, but I can’t remember much about it. 2010 in South Africa was spoilt by those fucking vuvuzelas. 2014 in Brazil was naff, 2018 in Russia was ok. 2022 was utter shite in Qatar.

The club World Cup last year was really unwatchable for me. Football is such a different thing to American Football. 🏈 We know we get all the interruptions in that sport. Football is a sport about building momentum and not having too many long stoppages, but this and VAR is destroying all that.

I can’t see me watching much of this one if I’m honest.

Same for me. I wasn’t old enough for 1982, but was all over 1986. I thought this was the pinnacle until Italia 90, and it hasn’t been beaten since.

I couldn't bring myself to watch a single minute of the competition, these governing bodies turn my stomach.

The last world cup was a real turning point for me.

I have said this before, but I just strongly dislike so much about where football has been going these last 5-10 years. VAR started the decline for me, it is by a country mile the biggest pile of shite ever introduced into the game.

Then we had a World Cup in Russia, where the suits were fawning over and trying to legitimise a dictator. Then we had Qatar, fawning over human rights abusers. And now we've got a repeat of Russia coming up, with Infantino again crawling up a despot's arse, this time Trump.

On top of that you've got the utter bollocks of the redesigned Champions League "Swiss system" (a European Super League by stealth) and the utterly pointless Club World Cup.

Oh, and top of all that we've had to suffer a string of Poundland Peps these last 5 years producing the most mind-numbingly boring football we've ever seen.

Merry Christmas, you filthy animals 😂
