Wrecsam

An interesting view from a Wrexham work colleague. He said when they got into L2 they could identify 18 clubs they could finish above. This season in L1 it was 16 for the Championship next season they have identified 6 they could finish above. Not saying he's right but maybe some of their fans are a bit more cautious than others.
Based on their current squad that is a fair assessment. But they will strengthen significantly. They should be comfortable mid table as a minimum. It would not surprise me if they bring in a number of eye catching signings that enable them to push for the playoffs. Automatic promotion is probably a step too far.

There is no way they will get close to automatic

If the standard of player they've been linked with is accurate then you're right. Cardiff 's Robinson and the forever injured Bamford for starters. Both good quality Championship performers but not going to move the dial that much. If they were to sign the likes of Firpo then that would be a different matter altogether.

Good article on the Wrexham rise. There is no question that they've spent their way to success, but they've done that legitimately, through the rise in ££££s the docuseries has brought them.

They reckon the club that Rob and Ryan bought for £2m is worth around £150m. Nuts.

Until the tv show is over.

Same with Inter Miami when Messi leaves.
A very good point. There's only so many human interest stories in a town of 55,000. I've enjoyed watching Welcome to Wrexham but it's getting a bit jaded. How will they sustain interest long term?

This is the conundrum.
If they find they are pushing for promotion again, great.
If they're involved in a relegation battle - great.
These both have drama attached to them.
If they're somewhere in mid table with nothing really to play for - the jeopardy disappears & American viewers will turn off in their droves. They won't care about them drawing 0-0 each week.

The drama of consecutive relegations back down to National League once they get their season in the Prem?
