• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

I want Darling to stay but 30k a week is a goodbye for me.

Thing with Wrexham, it is great spending that sort of money on wages but this division can swallow teams up. Wrexham go a couple of seasons just doing little in and around mid table then the glory hunters will disappear as quick as the boredom arrives. They need to be smart and paying 30k/50k a week on wages fresh into the league is just irresponsible.
In fairness Daps, they’ve been absolutely spot on with their business thus far. I see no reason why all of a sudden they would start making calamitous mistakes. They may do of course, but they are smashing it up to now.

The big challenge Wrexham have almost all their squad is under contract. So to recruit they will have to pay off quite a few to remain under the EFL squad ceiling. Maybe cash isn't an issue for them but why have your squad fully contracted when most will need to be binned for next season.
Why can’t they just sell them like every other team does, are they under some special embargo?

The same reason we can't sell players at times, we gave them contracts that other teams won't pay and the players won't leave for less.

The test starts now for me. The championship is a totally different animal.
I think 50k/30k a week wages might be paper talk but if it's not then I think they maybe getting carried away a bit.

Bookmark this, I think Parkinson will be gone by November and Wrexham will be sitting comfortable in the league when that decision is made.

How do you know what contracts they’ve given their players? It hasn’t hampered them yet through their rise through the leagues.

People said that about us when we got here and even more so when we got to the Prem. truth is, nobody knows how they’ll fair.

Parkinson getting sacked is neither here nor there, I wouldn’t bet against it either.

What I am trying to say is that they won't do things modestly and will expect instant rewards.
We were quite the opposite when we got promoted to the champ and prem and that's why we done as well as we did.

They are going down under. 3 game Australia/New Zealand pre-season tour. Kick off the 1st episode of the docuseries with Wallabies, Kangaroos, Sydney opera house
Playing Melbourne in July.
Wrexham lager ad is being filmed at York Lane bar in Sydney on April 16th.
Owners bought the brewery in Oct 24

Sounds like cool marketing and content for the docuseries

No you are confusing what you are thinking with what their plans are. There’s a lot of it that goes on in fairness.

There’s way we done it, people were saying that our model should be the aim of all small clubs. I’d say the way they are doing it now should be the model for us small clubs. Only downside is that we need owners with their sort of influence to pull it off. Looks like we are trying on a much smaller scale by getting Modric on board.

The average wage in the Premier League is around £67,000 per week. Ben is an established first team player at one of the bigger clubs so it wouldn't be a huge surprise if his current salary was around the £100,000 per week mark, although he's likely to start having to take a hit on that as his game time and age proceed in opposite directions.

Maybe Wrexham will be the best financial offer on the table.

Not going to cry about it, but that would sting a little, I have to say.
I said it weeks ago, Darling will go to them or Birmingham and will score against us. It's fate 😂😂😂. Also add to that everyone's opinion on good old Wrexham will change from good for them to they are our new enemy 😂😂

Tbf, that's one of the most obvious predictions anyone can make.

Death, taxes....and former Swans players scoring against the Swans.

Danny Graham left here and effectively retired for about 2 years, then popped up and scored here for Hull. I don't even think he ever scored another goal for Hull. 😂

Have we ever given a club this much attention before? I don’t think Cardiff have garnered this much focus from us over the years if one were to put it in proportion/context. Cringe tbf

I think the attention will be limited to the transfer window. For me anyway.

They have significant funds. Think some on here are wary of what kind of team they put together. Me I think they will defo be in the bottom half of the table.

Because of:
Style of play
1st 11 - age. Add Darling 26, ok, add Cairney 34. if they stick with older experienced players they are going to come unstuck against Championship sides big time

Promotion winning game they had 4 of the 11 over 30. 38, 36, 33, 30
and on the bench 4 of 7 were 38, 30, 30, 30 by seasons start

League 1 and 2 you can get away with ageing quality. Dont think you can at this level.
