Wrexham v Birmingham (Friday night lights)

From Holywood FC to Holyhead FC, Welcome To The Championship.
Exactly, they have chucked a fair bit of money at the prospect of going up to the Premier, but they are nowhere near at the moment. I am really surprised, Parkinson hasn't gone yet, I would imagine Ryan and Rob would definitely be thinking they are struggling at the moment, with mediocre results.

They have no idea who to replace him with...sound familiar,

Listening to the Second Tier podcast last night, they made a good point about this.

Usually there’s a handful of out of work proven Championship managers ready to step in, but if Parkinson or Davies was sacked I’m not sure who they’d go for - based on the expectations of the owners.

Problem both Wrexham and Brum have is they have owners and managers with no real experience of the Championship trying to buy a squad for this level. Add to the expectations of success.

That's the impression I got last night, however many expensive subs Parkinson brought on, they didn't gel, there was no pattern to their play. O'Brien looks lost too. Their main tactic is lump it up to Moore. Burgess is going to have a right royal battle with him when we play them.

Neither did Huw Jenkins and he did ok.

Welcome To Wrexham, is going to be so entertaining next year, now that Wrexham seem to have stagnated from their previous form,

I can't see them going down, just mid table.
They'll be very thankful for the Cup run they're on. If they can beat a League 1 team, they'll be into the Quarter Finals for the first time in who knows how many years and could get a glamour tie.

They were always going to have to invest just to survive in the Championship and they've done that but investing to get another promotion is a completely different level. I know Ipswich somehow did it, but it's not the norm.

The fact that they've flown up the leagues quite quickly has probably acted against them to a degree.

They've had to rebuild the team for the last two seasons at least. Maybe not for their year in L2 because a lot of that squad was already good enough for that level, but certainly last season and now this one they've had a lot of squad turnover and that brings its own problems in terms of cohesiveness, building a team spirit and identity with understanding between the players.

When we did the climb we had three seasons in L1 to build. Then three seasons in the Championship and more than one or two players were around for all of it.
