• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Just wondering how many you think you can do, I just did 25, and I’m not far off 60. Too be fair, I struggled with press ups in my 40’s, it was a struggle to manage just 5.

Twenty five is good going.

I can't do three.

Same as I used to be, right struggle, but been working with dumbbells for a while now, I’m not even sure what happened, all of a sudden they are not too bad. Literally would fall on the floor, at around the 4 or 5 push up.

I struggle with pull ups as well, arms like a pigeon.

Just goes to show what training can do for the body though.

After those 25, rest for 60 seconds then do as many as you can. Rest for 60 seconds then do as many as you can again. In a couple of months you’ll probably be able to do double.

At the moment, I don’t think I can do a pull up. I used to do them for fun years ago, just grab a scaffolding bar on site, and pull myself up, but that was 40 year ago 🤣

Time has a lot to answer for 😉

50 press ups and 2 pull ups. Pull ups are f*****g hard and I can’t be bothered to persevere.

50 is good, is that with one continuous go?
Yeah. If I do HIIT tabata workouts (5x20 seconds on, 10 seconds off) I can do 75.. It’s got harder since I turned 65, but I’m only pushing up 70 kg…that might be going up the way I’ve been eating and the way the swans are driving me into the arms of Mr Theakston.

That’s absolutely great going! I must admit I love all the fitness stuff.

Yes, but which are they? Push ups or press ups?

I like to get definitions right before rushing into things 🤣
