• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Didn't like Obafemi either despite him being one of our most threatening strikers of recent years.

I don't doubt that Oba was a handful, but there's ways and means of getting the best out of people. When I've had staff in the past I tend to work with them to find out how to get the best out of them. I don't act like a Martinet and insist that they do exactly what I want because it's counter productive.

When you're someone like Russy, insisting that your way is the only way despite it being obvious insanity, it's no wonder he fell out with so many players.

At least Morgan has gone on and progressed. Can’t say the same about Obafemi.

It can be argued, in fact it can confidently be said that Obefami most productive time during his career was whilst with Swansea.
It was just a shame he started performing and acting unprofessional regards his health that ultimately cost him his progression and us a few extra quid.

Interesting to read that Whittaker was a soluble for selection to play last night but didn't turn up!

I just had a look at his Wiki stats, was surprised to see 15 goals in 51 games. My perception was lesser figures than these.

For some reason Martin didn’t fancy him. Can’t fathom why. Maybe his play was too offensive for his liking!
Scored a hatrick v Plymouth ironically in the cup, then didn’t have a look in after that game.
He didn’t fancy him because he was too direct for Martins possession nonsense.

He had a good second half to one season where he got about 10/12 of those goals.
Think he starting believing his own hype and just literally started doing whatever he wanted and eating whatever he wanted 😬

Shocking again from him but is anyone surprised?
I am a bit. He pushed for the move to Plymouth stating that he was happy down there and had respect for the club but that seems to have gone out the window.
I was probably giving him too much credit.

I think some like myself will have had a bit of a wake up call and it certainly sheds a bit more light on the issues that were happening down here with him.
I think the blame on the situation was easy to lay at the clubs door and was another stick to beat the manager at the time with.
