• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

First cut tomorrow.
Mrs LL has a thing about buying pansies and any other plants on offer at the local Aldi and sure enough they came with the rest of the shopping today. It’s worse in the Autumn though - when they’ve got bulbs on offer. The inevitable special offer bulbs appear. Been a tradition for the last 10 years at least. I’d only end up digging up all the previous bulb purchases so just end up putting them in the bin. She’s never noticed but I do admit to pangs of guilt.

Just gave mine a skinhead, right down to the wood. Only thing with that is that it has exposed the damage I caused to it last year by being over zealous with the feed and weed 🙃

Just opened the side gate to let a lovely lady cut the grass and do some weeding for us. 😎

Probably needs it's own thread, but got the old pressure washer out this morning, that's the patio done. Just a million other things to do now.😁👍

Never pressure wash a patio mun. Swimming pool strength bleach and a hazmat suit.

A twenty quid drum of hypochlorite or three hours putting my back out? I can live with the garden smelling like ICI for a few days.

Still have not cut mine. It’s an absolute delight to watch all the insects thriving on a lovely day like this. I’m going to leave it get to knee height, then it will get the first cut.

Mine’s getting done again tomorrow. I’m up north for most of next week so if I don’t get it done before I go it’ll play on my mind. And it’s grown quite a bit especially out the back. All over it after work tomorrow.

Do you use the 14/15% stuff - or the industrial shock restricted killer swimming pool stuff Coops? I ask as I've never had the courage for the latter but a builder told me that's what would make my 27 year old stones look like new. Not sure I'd ever have the guts. The 'milder' stuff made an old rugby shirt an 'interesting' colour with a little wind spray, s I'd be scared for the grass and shrubs in the vicinity.

Get a hired hand in to do this sort of stuff? Its less hassle at our time of life 😎
