Sheehan deserves the chance and the Swans could be fun again

Yeah, it really does feel like a crossroads at the moment.

The most obvious and rational decision is to give it to Sheehan. There are probably no more reasons left not to.

Or, they can take a step into the unknown, armed with their laptops and their stat packs, and somehow engineer a way out of making the obvious decision to give the job to what would be a total punt. And off we'd go again, likely under another "trust the process" manager. Unless the owners are prepared to fly in the face of FFP/PSR and lavish superbucks on the team to support them, it will fail, just like it has the last 4 years.

I hope Montague has the courage to do the right thing.

You'd think with all the goodwill currently with the club, after years of dross, this is a P.R. disgrace.
As fans we can only see positives in A.S. being given the role.
Obviously we would see him having different issues over 46 games then a temporary stint.
But hasn't he shown enough promise that things will be better with squad strengthening.
What we don't want is yet another wasted season.

So a coach who has served his interview well or a coach into the unknown.

Surely it's a time to continue the rebuild

I’m still getting splinters on the fence on this, but it is blatantly better to evaluate ‘show us what you can do’ vs ‘tell us what you will do’. It’s why I couldn’t believe Guidolin was replaced at all (unless by Brodge) and especially by a hapless idiot.

Sheehan has shown us, and so I would be perfectly happy with his appointment.

Same.

We know Sheezy won’t work out in the end, but he’s deserved his shot. However, if there is someone genuinely too good to pass over, that’s fair enough as well. I do worry that Monty is a possession merchant though, and reading the report about the Swede doesn’t fill me with joy either, especially when I read that they employ a mathematician to do some analysis 🧐

Americans lap that crap up.

What I find quite amusing is that Yank owners do love their data models, but arguably the best exponents of how to use it in football have been British - Matthew Benham at Brentford and Tony Bloom at Brighton.

You can have all the data in the world in front of you, but if you don't know how to analyse it properly and put it into context for the line of work you're in - you've got no chance.

That's a very fair point, and where I am slightly encouraged that the new ownership have employed two people with experience in British football to head things up.

So so true!

It seems some folk are underestimating the level of intent, drive and ambition of our new owners and best-in-class recruitment apparatus.

Luka is the massive statement, the catalyst for proper change, the real watershed moment right now.

Sheez is clearly now Plan C, at best, as per.

Sheez and his Quorum did a massive job of cleansing us from the stink of Martin and his Willy. He did what Duff was expected to do. We now deserve more.

Plan A has to be aspirational, to get us back to the leading edge with our unique Swansea Edge at the vanguard yet again.

That's all we need, Sheehan has proved that he has several strings to his bow, winning his last 5 is a brilliant achievement, won 5 drawn 2 lost 2, 17 pts out of 27 is top 2 form, who knows what he can achieve.
He deserves his chance 100%, they can shove their possession, stats and data football where the sun doesn't shine, to be successful at that you need players with the ability to play that style, RM and to a lesser extent LW had the vision to replicate Pep football without the sense to realise that you need players worth millions to produce that style.

Nonsense, Max, with all due respect.
Martin and his Willy nowhere near had the vision, they were utterly clueless. They actually both said as much - they did it their way, by all accounts.

'That's all we need' - smacks of second best. Like, 'Just give him the job'.

I very much doubt our super ambitious, super driven new owners don't do 'That's all we need / Just give him the job' defeatist, unaspiring.

Some of our fans need to raise the bar, look for the art of the possible, strive for more, strive for what we once were............
