Fisher,Cooper,Bianchini,Ginnelly and Yates were the ones left out to play with the U21s in a behind closed door friendly.

Tomorrow might be clarity on where he stands with the first team. Hasn't done enough for me, great at getting free kicks, good energy but that's it. Get a feeling across the board we are upgrading and the youth are not at level required. We'll Cooper isn't really youth but you know what I mean.

I get what you mean. He brings energy to the team but for a player who is an attacking midfielder,Cooper doesn't seem to get enough goals and assists.
He seems to be our version of Ruben Colwill, seems to be talked up a bit but is at an age where he should be cementing a starting berth and doing a lot more.

Wouldnt be overly upset if he did move on.

26 This Year. For me and without being to harsh, he has had enough time to cement his place. I like him but with what we have and where we are going there is no time for journey men. Cullen is another one. If he wasn't our top scorer and didn't press then he would be another to go. I think the moment we get a player in that outshines Cullen he will be on the out list next summer.

First started having doubts about Oli C about two years ago and haven't seen anything since that has stopped them growing.

It's a shame really as he's an easy player to like and there's a part of me that would quite like to keep him around as a late injection of energy into a game if we needed someone to chase and harry opposing defences.

Not much getting around the lack of genuine quality in his play though. Can't dribble, can't pass, can shoot a little.

I think you’re right that it’s best for Liam that he plays in that number 10 role, but I’m not convinced it’s best for the team. He’s not a great creator and turns over possession too easily if we try and break quickly through him. Some of the times he gave away possession easily on the half way line last year ended up in the back of our net within 10 seconds.

But he can score, which is a huge plus. I’ve always thought he’s a poacher type who needs to play as a striker next to a big number 9. Unfortunately most teams at our level stopped playing 2 up front that way over 20 years ago!

We have plenty of attacking midfielders now, some of which are younger than Cooper.

I'd convert him to be the Allen replacement like Bellamy has tried for Wales. He's got the tools to do that, good engine, gets stuck in, tidy passer. Worth a go as back up seeing as he's on our books.
