I agree with thev article, but to me what is glaring is if bthe player wanted to come he would be here by now all he has to do is sak for a transfer, think the swans are doing the correct thing

Not really, because they want more than we want to pay (after 2 hefty bids), and appear to be holding out while hinting bigger clubs are after him, then we've done the correct thing. Desperation is a bad look. When we signed Inoussa there were a few who questioned how we could afford the 5 million or 6 million fee, and why we were spending it. Seems a clear case of damned if you do, and damned if you don't.

Disagree, as I said on the other Kone thread this is as much about principles and precedent as it is about the transfer.
Clubs and chairmen talk, if we get taken for mugs and over pay for a player with poorly constructed transfers/addons then that gets about.

Will I be disappointed if we don't sign Kone now that McBurnie is almost a shoe in for going to Hull? Yes

I agree with our stance we have made a good offer personally I don't think he's worth £5 million and glad we are not being blackmailed into paying it

I couldn't agree with you more. As the window gets closer to the close, Wycombe have to face that problem you clearly and rightly pointed out. I'm sure Wycombe will sell Kone to the highest bidder, because they need the money more that the Swans want the player at there valuation. 4.4 million for a club like Wycombe Wanderers is huge money, and to lose that kind of cash will hurt them. They are not going to these kinds of offers and what the Swans offered is more than fair, but greed always has the habit of coming back and bites. Being realistic is what Wycombe need to be thinking right now or pay the consequences! There are clubs more experienced (like Swansea City) in negotiations than Wycombe and if they had common sense they'd humble themselves and take them best offer!

As we well know how rich an owner is doesn't have a lot of bearing on how you can conduct transfer business as PSR will come back and bite you on the ass if you just try to wing it with no real plan in place.

If they don't sell and he doesn't sign a new deal they will effectively have spunked away 4.5m quid for nothing except their own ego. If he gets them promoted they might say it was worth it, but anything else would be an expensive loss.

If the Kone situation drags on to the end of the window they may be lucky to get 3m for him unless a truly desperate club throws money at them. Otherwise they would probably be looking at 2m tops in January and that is IF he has a good half season
