• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

He scored seven last season despite being in and out of the team and not having a manager who had a clue how to use him until the end of February.

Given a regular starting berth under Sheehan and a continuation of the way we played at the end of the campaign and I think he's capable of doubling that, a tally which this season would have put him in the divisional top five goalscorers.

People think that you need a 20+ goal striker to get anywhere in this division and it's simply not true. Nobody managed it this year. Not even Piroe. Sheff Utds top scorer has ten, but they have four players who have managed it.

That's what we need to do. Get Vipi into the teens and have four or five other players close to double figures.

I can see Eom chipping with a few more as he seemed to find his feet at the end of the season - as did most of the team. Sharing the goals around as you say will ease the burden on Vip & he can concentrate on his game.

I made this point earlier in the thread, but his minutes this season equate to almost exactly 23 games. It's not as simple as just 'double his games, double his goals', but should that have been the case, he'd have had 14 in the league.

Considering the top scorer this year was Piroe on 19, I'm not sure that's a bad enough return to write a player off after one season. Add into that the fact he barely got a consistent run of games and spent half the season playing under 'we won't give you the ball, lol' Luke Williams, I'm more than happy to keep him moving forward

Well there are not many players in the current squad that look like getting anywhere near ten goals. Our midfield and wingers are seriously lacking in the goal department.

Eom certainly should have five or six in him through a season.
As it happens his expected goal tally this season was 6. Shows he's at least getting the opportunities. Now he's got 3 (all excellent in different ways) he will hopefully be more composed in front of goal.

I'd be happy for Vipotnik to stay, but equally I would be happy for him to leave for £4 million. I'd consider letting him go for less if there are good alternatives available for a cut price, which is unlikely.

If he plays in the hole as a 10 as many expect with the signing of Inoussa and the money we paid for him meaning he will almost certainly be a first choice pick for the left wing then considering he has a more than decent long range shot on him then 8-10 goals and the same for assists would be for him in his first season in the Championship playing that position a phenomenal return.
