Banished to the U23s or whatever it is. If they had no intention of playing him why didn't they loan him to a top league 1 club or even send him back to Kilmarnock for a season.

Idah only happened on deadline day and we only have two strikers. If one got injured or the Idah deal had fallen through and we had loaned Wales out, the club would have rightly got pelters. He is very young, maybe we get another no.9 in January and he goes to League One then.

Do you think they would play Wales at 9 then before Cullen if we did pick up an injury? Genuine question.

I’ve got nothing to base this on other than a hunch, but I think the plan was to bring in a first choice striker much earlier and sell Vipotnik.

It would have then been Cullen as reserve and Wales as 3rd choice.

Vipotnik started scoring and we were struggling to get the striker over the line so ended up where we are now. Can see Wales going out on loan in January.

*I too had forgotten about him!

I haven't seen much of Wales but I have always thought he has something about him, constantly on the move and scored in pre-season. Would like to see him on the bench and get a few minutes here and there but if he isn't going to play, a loan in January would seem like the obvious thing.

Wales wasn’t bought for the first team though was he? I always assumed he was a development one behind Cullen and Vipotnik.

no, I think Cullen would definitely play ahead of him initially. But with two games a week and however long this hypothetical injury would be, you need more than 1 or 2 options.

The manager loves Cullen - no way Wales is going to upstage his blue eyed boy.

He doesn't love him enough to start him regularly this season. To be fair, it'd be a brave manager who'd start an inexperienced 20 year old ahead of a more seasoned pro with over 200 appearances for club and country.
