Anyone else feel that a rift or sense of opinions between Sheehan and O Dea is contributing to this downfall?

They seem very animated with each other and if its the case something is wrong.

If Sheehan goes I don't want to advocate for O Dea to be given a shot, but would be interesting experiment for a few weeks to see if it's Sheehan or O Dea who has caused this issue.

O Dea didn’t give me good vibes from his first interview, spoke well enough but definitely came across as a big I am, let’s just say it’s changed since he came on board than when Fotheringham was here with Sheehan.

I'm veering towards a "Clear the lot of them out" approach. Maybe foolishly when it comes to Margetson, but a completely fresh approach probably wouldn't hurt us.

That does depend on a club management willing to look past the kind of bullshit artists who will sell them on the idea of instilling another "Swansea Way" at the club. The last thing we need to do is keep repeating the mistakes of 2021 onwards.

I agree. Also does anyone know what Kristian O'Leary does? He seems to attached to each failing manager. I'm not advocating for O Dea to stay, but it will be interesting who steps in for the interim period if Sheehan goes.

I am all for waiting, doesn't matter if it takes weeks. If we find the right manager then so be it.

It feels like the club and its owners need to put there own stamp on the club and appoint a manager with their vision.

Sheehan pretty much gave the club little option in his appointment, but even the club admitted at the time they was looking for someone else.

Now is the time to start with fresh new backroom staff.

Marg I would keep just purely because what he has done with Vig.

Sheehan was doing ok until O'Dea rocked up, they should have offered the gig to Fotheringham he and Sheehan worked well last season.

I don't think anyone really knows what KOL does, which doesn't stop people grumping about him. For all we know he does as much around the place as Curt did, but with more flak. I might be being harsh but he is damned by association. We can't keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome.

It's almost like a Monte Carlo statistical experiment. We run the same experiment with a slight change in variables expecting to see a different outcome. We just can't run thousands of iterations to find a single change that changes the outcome. We've had four rather unsuccessful goes since Cooper went (dull but at least effective) which by-and-large have only been a tweak.

Absolutely.

IMO we need to be open to anyone coming through the door. We've had a stream of managers in designer hoodies, skinny jeans and bright white trainers. All from the same factory, if not the same conveyor belt. They've all been so risk adverse that I genuinely believe that if an alien landed and started watching us, they'd have no idea the point was for us to put the ball in the goal.

I reckon we could put together a first 11 from every player who has played for us since Martin came in (when the parachute payments ran out) and we'd still struggle to get promoted.

There is something about O'Dea that I don't like, he seems very aggressive when putting his point forward. I get the feeling he wants to be the top dog and is vocal by nature (he was often made captain in his playing days, but never stayed many places for long).

It would be a no from me if Sheehan goes then I would thank O'Dea and send him on his merry way

The focus on O'Dea feels fairly manufactured and out of step with reality. He is not corrupting Sheehan with deceptive whispers in his ear on the touchline as if he is Wormtongue in Lord of the Rings. They are a team and his right hand man, but Sheehan leads and has selected the team around him for the most part. If he is to go, O'Dea will depart too. If a change in Assistant Manager was to singlehandedly change things and turn us from a historically bad attacking side to a good one, then that would not reflect on Sheehan well either.

Am I wrong in saying it was Sheehan who brought O'Dea in to the fold? The idea he's now stabbing his mate in the back is a little far fetched.

The name of this thread might be a give away.

I did not see where the backstabbing part came from. The thread is about whether they mesh well together as a pair and if things have soured. I have not seen any suggestion that Sheehan is putting negative information about O'Dea into the public.

Sorry, my fault, I should have noticed you were being pedantic. 👏🏼
