• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

There were rumours doing the rounds last year that city and united were after him and brogan popham

If you were in the youth team would you sign a long time deal here? When was the last time any of them were given a run in the squad?

I'd be pretty pissed off if the likes of Fulton and Cullen were getting game time before me.
Not to mention the conveyor belt of mediocrity like Oko-Flex, Patino, Peart-Harris and so on coming here and getting in matchday squads ahead of them, despite doing the square root of feck all

Include over the hill journeymen like Santos.

It’s mind blowing if we’ve set up an exceptional youth system which produces great youth players which we are too stupid to tie down to professional contracts allowing Man City and United as well as a host of La lugs clubs just to take them for next to nothing

I was pointing out our annoying habit of taking humdrum young players from other clubs who block pathways for our own talent, but you also have a point there tbf.

Sorry, I did get your original point.

It does frustrate me when we take these loan players on instead of trusting our youth set up which the club seems to pride itself on.

Arsenal have an 18 year old, a 17 year old and a 15 year old in their matchday squad. Arsenal mind.
If they're good enough...

Confidence on the pitch begins when the club shows confidence in the players. We need to be recognizing and rewarding our home grown talents as they form a huge investment in the clubs future.

What's the point in fostering, training and mentoring future talent if we're not fully utilizing the talent?

At least the Harlan Perry situation is being aired in forums and social media and no excuse can be given by the club that they weren't aware of the player's situation. Having said that its getting nearer to when the transfer window opens and all manner of rumours will be posted!
