If this isn't just media flanel, this could be a serious danger for us. I think pound signs in the eyes of the owners will blind them to the fact that he is an essential element in avoiding relegation. It won't be serious danger if those claiming he's worth £10m are correct. If we can get that kind of money for him we'd quite frankly be insane not to take it

Which is the point I was making.

Every time we sell a player we get people theorising that it would cost just as much to replace them and it never does.

Personally wouldn’t be letting Vipotnik go if we can help it, unless it was for a an amount we couldn’t refuse. He’s the only consistent source of goals in the squad and I’m not sure I’d want to gamble on finding a goalscorer in the January window.

Surprised so many are open to selling him (which is different to understanding that of course he'd leave if someone offered good money for him). Replacing Vipotnik with Idah would presumably make replacing Bony with Gomis look like a genius move.

Gomis was good though. Maybe replacing Laudrup with Monk would be a better comparison.

Can’t take less than 10m for him. 15 would be amazing. But is Adam Idah going to step up if he goes? He really needs to put some work on in on the training ground, he is still well off the pace.

He’s shown this season that he’s a lot more capable.

I don't rate Idah very highly, but he does seem capable enough to get us through the second half of the season. Would expect him to get 6 or 7, and, perhaps more importantly, he's much better at leading the press than Vip. I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to benefit Matos if he was forced into using him

I always get the impression that Idah doesn’t press as much and looks quite lazy.
Think he could come good though.
