good hard worked for win at Oxford, this next game must show all how or even if we are progressing for me we are slowly, its the consistancy we need now and for me more clinical finishing when chances are made, am sure it will come but needed sooner than later
Happy and a healthy new year to everyone

I hope yesterday won’t have taken too much out of the players as WBA are a much more physical team than Oxford
The way they bullied us and got at us in the second half there is a concern
We have improved as a team since then but I hope that we can match them physically and work rate.

Two tough physical games coming up. I can't really see how we can keep those levels of pressing up. That was so important last night, it will have taken a real physical and emotional toll.

That’s why Fulton started last night. We got some good options in midfield. Unless yalcouye is going back I think expect him and Franco to start in midfield with Stamenic holding. All should be relatively fresh. Widdell covered every blade of grass last night and we can’t expect him to be able to do that again.

Hence the “manager doesn’t see him as a starter” even though it’s clear to anyone with half a brain cell what matos is doing with the squad.

Can't hold it against Jackareme for still having PTSD though 😜
Not at all, was a farce. I still remember doing a long summary of the events on the JA of the day for those who hadn't gone to the game.

Would be interesting to read it again now to see how biased I was! I remember calling Monk an idiot for reacting to provocation (it's usually the second offender who gets caught) and blasting Linington for clearly shitting himself when it looked like the game would need to be abandoned.

Predicted Line Up

Vig

Galbraith, Cabango, Burgess, Tymon

Stamenic, Franco, Widell

Ronald, VP, Eom

Franco and Ronald in theory should have some energy having only featured a little on Monday.

My only concern would be Eom with his lack of physical presence.

Eom frustrates me, a player last night who showed glimpses and if he just stayed consistent could be hell of a player.

Maybe have Yalcouye, start. But can't see Matos doing this.

Either way. I won't predict the score, but a Home win with hopefully a good crowd behind us, no reason not to take it to them.

I would like to see the lineup you mentioned, however I wouldn't be surprised if Widell is rotated out of this one. He covered an insane amount of ground last night and has only a few days to recover

I half expect Yalcouye to be handed his first start (under Matos) and Widell utilized from the bench

Hopefully it’ll be a bit of a different game to Matos’s first game in charge, even though we did score 2 in that one. Looking at the fixtures, West Brom haven’t won away since Oct 1st against Norwich. They’re a bit like us, all their goals are up top with their 9 (Heggebø). It may well come down to who performs the best between him and Vipotnik on Thursday.

Still waiting for us to score 3 in a league game this season.

I was just looking at stats of Widell, pass accuracy 83%, 100% long pass accuracy. Tackles won, 100%. No idea on the amount he ran, but he will be tired. I agree think Yalcouye would be good to come in. But my bet Widell will play based on his stats. Yalcouye though only on for a short time and did well and did do some blocks in stats got, 67% pass accuracy and no tackles.
