• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

For what we paid for Jay Fulton, we can't complain. He's never going to grab the headlines but will give his all. When you consider the amount of money in transfer fees and wages on players who couldn't cut it, Jay gives you what it says on the tin.
Bump. 👍

I just want him to get the respect he deserves as a capable player and a fine servant to the club.
I think the frustration is we know he has that in his locker he’s had goals like that for years but how often does he produce it?

I am perfectly happy to be proven wrong and change my mind on him if he can produce the goods like that a few more times this season

I get the frustration that he doesn't score more, but there are very few players who score multiple goals like that a season, especially when the majority of their appearances are from the bench.

I’d LOVE the club to give him another contract, for no other reason than it upsetting all the right people.

Uppafuckingswans
Excellent goal, superb strike. Makes you wonder where that type of cameo and goal has been most of his career. Would still sell him for a tenner if any club was willing to pay that price.

I’m not expecting him to score worldies every week. But we know that Jay has quite a lot of technical skill, he doesn’t showcase it enough.

Much of that can be attributed to mismanagement and bad coaching but still, the frustration is knowing he can do more but isn’t done so for many seasons

Just as well you aren't in charge of recruitment after today's goal by super Jay.

How often is he asked to produce it? His role has largely been defensive. The last time he thumped in a long range late winner the manager admitted not wanting him to shoot.

In any case, it's not about the goals. He does what he's asked to do, for the most part does it well and has done for a decade, yet is continually criticised.

He's also going to get plenty of minutes judging by the effort levels demanded by Matos' system. If Lisa is right and he's one of our highest earners then he'd need to take a massive pay-cut, but I'd be happy for him to sign on for another season at the right price.

Russell Martin admitted that he shouted “no” just before Fulton smashed in a long range winner versus Reading.
