Is correct. A 12 pager suggests some may be getting carried away. Calm expectations please. Will likely need the rest of this season just to settle in. Looking forward to him winning us the match on Saturday is way too high a bar.
If he makes a scoring cameo on the weekend the expecatations will be sky rocketing.

Walta will do just fine with us. He cost us 3M and I have no doubt he will get goals and create for us.
He is 22 and will have a long contract so will have time to settle and/or develop.
He will get praise, he will get pelters I'm sure but he clearly has talent, age on his side and has come in at a relatively modest fee.
I certainly feels like he has a high ceiling.

Mate, nothing wrong with looking forward to watching what difference a new exciting signing is going to make 🖤🤍
Looking forward to seeing what a new signing will change the team for me is all part and parcel of being a football fan - first home game of the season, the FA Cup draw, who are we playing on Boxing Day - all the ingredients that might not have the same attraction for other fans but the buzz is still there from when I started going to the Vetch Field in the early 60's.

He's been lost a bit in things but I am also looking forward to seeing what Nunes is all about especially after his encouraging performance away to Watford.
Chance he might even start.

All fun and games. Reminds me of the 'Mark Gower - most creative midfielder in Europe' thing a while back.

I like to think that at the moment you posted that, a certain ex-poster and noted Mark Gower fan felt a great disturbance in the Force...

More seriously, I don't mean to harsh anyone's buzz on Walta. Dreaming that our new signing is going to be a superstar is half the fun when someone comes in. I'm quietly hoping that he has a Gylfi-like effect on our team. My concern is what J_B said, people making negative judgements if he doesn't hit the ground running, but they'll do that whether we hype him up or not, so it doesn't really matter.

I watched the Watford highlights and there was some brilliant play bringing the ball out of defence (that led to an effort on goal by Franco I believe) that was genuinely impressive stuff. Hoping to see more of that and suggests he will be a scary sight for fullbacks when he comes off the bench.

We have certainly missed a winger capable of getting the ball and turning defence into attack or a winger with pace that can just get on the end of a defensive clearance and turn the opposition
He certainly looks like he is someone who has that x factor and turn us from defence to attack in an instance.

Modern day negative judgements about our players are no different to the negativity one had in the Swansea public houses in the pre-internet/web era. Difficult to walk away from the boring fan who knew everything about the players and who never went to the Vetch Field at that time while the good thing about the web is that you are either attracted to the fishing non-attending fan or you click to the next topic in the Forum.

Colin, I hope you don't mind me asking.
Are you the gent who I would have seen at some friendlies and U21 games who looks passing similarities to Michael Douglas?

I know it's a strange thing to ask but I have no doubt if you are the guy I am thinking of them the Michael Douglas link would have already been known to you.
PS- Its a compliment I think 😁

I was a regular at Landore for academy games when we were living in Swansea but all I will say is that my hair parting is far wider than Michael Douglas's!! :)
