They can and should only implement VAR for clear and obvious errors, as it was intended, not searching for marginal and microscopic things. It’s not there to check every goal to see if they can find anything to disallow it. You should rarely see it used.
Absolutely

Keep goal-line technology, keep VAR for violent conduct, bin the rest.
Can't disagree with that, there was a moment in the game where Salah was fouled in the penalty box, VAR looked at it, but awarded no pen, because they deemed he would not have made it to the ball, but it's still a foul in the penalty box ffs!

Suppose you could use the same line for the Citeh penalty.
Player wins the ball and the Liverpool goalkeeper takes him out, would the Citeh player had made it to the ball with that touch he took even if the keeper hadn't taken him out.

I don't recall seeing the foul on Salah but I agree that if he was fouled then it should have been a penalty.
Same concept if someone gets pulled down in the penalty area from a corner and free kick but was nowhere near the ball.

The foul was outside of the box and the ref awarded a free kick.

There were two penalty shouts involving Salah. One in the first half (way inside the box) where Bernardo Silva had a tug at his shoulder. Seen them given. The only thing I'd say is that Salah has "form" for going down easily. I think a pen would have been harsh. The second shout was Guehi on the edge of the box in the second half. It was definitely outside the box and there was cover from Dias and the keeper - whether Salah would have got there is irrelevant if there's cover from other defenders. It's not clear which incident he's referring to.

That's my last word on the subject ...

For me a difficult decision well worked out by VAR similar to the TMO in Rugby .
They judge each action then come to the right decision .
Unusual to see that situation.

I don't understand the outrage over that. Szob clearly pulled back Haaland - a red card (correctly). Haaland then fouled Szob, who possibly could have stopped the ball crossing the line otherwise. You can play advantage after the first offence, but you can't just ignore the second offence. VAR perfectly correct in my book.
What I don't understand is how can a player who is about to be sent off then prevent the other team taking the advantage.

VAR had no choice but to do what they did, but that's the problem it ruins the essence of football.

The outcome should have been a goal, it is fortunate that it didn't effect the result (but it ruined the finale).

The outcome being a City goal ruled out and them given a free kick instead for a foul in the build up to the goal that was then ruled out. And a Szoboszlai red card for denying a goalscoring opportunity despite the fact that he didn’t because City scored. Only for it to be then ruled out and replaced with a free kick for a foul in the build up. To a goal. Which City scored.

Make it make sense.
Just to add a further point, Haaland pulled back the Liverpool player, which is normally a yellow card and that would have been his 2nd yellow, so why didn't VAR send him off as well !!

VAR can't get anything right.

I would say he couldn't award the goal because Haaland pulled back Szoboszlai
The foul and the red Card was given preventing a goal .

About Haaland given a second yellow not sure after the first offence does the next one count .

VAR should be done and dusted in a minute.
Quick look from 3 angles. Job done.
If you spend 5 minutes of time looking at every angle, doing geometry and lines to see if someone's little toe is offside, then the decision should be for the attacking side.
Var was to stop clear and obvious decisions being wrong.
Not a kids art exam
