Our centre backs

Burgess is the worst passer I can remember in our team. I can't remember 1 long pass he ever gets right. And always puts us in risk with his short passing. I don't see us changing our defense next season though. Even with Lissah
Just don't see it.

Perhaps it would help if they didn’t have the most possession in the team and just concentrated on defending.
Wood looked outstanding today.

As I just said in the match day thread he hasn’t had a minute off this season. Fatigue must be playing a part on both players as Cabango has only missed one game. That’s a bad look on our recruitment side

Burgess just isn't the answered. He was signed purely on experience alone.

No doubt on a big wage, I wouldn't be surprised if moves are made to actively try and move him on.
A good World Cup for him will likely help 🤞

Exactly, would be a help to them if we could create sustained pressure on the opposition goal ,or even get ourselves a couple of goals in front. Nah, no chance.

It would help if Burgess didn’t wake up believing he is the love child of Bobby Moore and Beckenbauer.
He constantly ignores simple high % passes for impossible 50 yard glory passes which immediately cough up possession.
I have become increasingly frustrated. Problem is we have no options and he is important winning headers.

When Southampton played Arsenal, a stat popped up that showed the most successful passes in the championship since their new manager took charge.
Burgess was third, just behind bloody Matt Grimes.
You’d expect it to be Galbraith or Franco.

*you’d want it to be Galbraith or Franco

Shows what a terrible signing Santos was. A complete waste of a wage.

Burgess and Cabango play a serious amount of 5 yard passes back and forth between themselves every game mind.

Burgess has become another Ryan Bennett; he'll be hard to shift on big wages.
Ryan Bennett was a much better player.

These will be our centre backs next year unless we can miraculously sell one.
