• We have today (22nd April) confirmed the closure of JackArmy.net on 31st May. Our reasons are varied but after a twenty-five year stint at the heart of the online Swansea City community, the time is right for us to bow out. JackArmy.net - Twenty-Five Years And Out

Thanks Phil for your work here and with the Trust. The kids for a quid and the fun days with face painting etc. were loved by my daughter. She's 24 now and still comes to the odd game. Will be sorry to see the site go as relatively sane compared to the histrionics on X

Yes, in fairness, relatively sane is a legitimate comment - the X lot plumb further depths.

I can only thank Phil and the other contributors on here, I wasn’t on here from the start but it has always been my go to for all things Swansea related since i did join up probably in 2005/6.

I was told it was full of wenkers, posh people, dead ends and a collection of weirdos whenever i mentioned it to other Swans fans, it was indeed full of the above but they were all people you could talk to about a shared vision a somewhat foolish and naive view that our club was different that the board, the trust, this forum were all pulling in the same direction.

It turned out somewhat differently from what we hoped but the club did indeed survive and gave us a complete whirlwind of emotions, getting into the playoffs again in L1 with the same result again!

Playing the mighty Southend with their swashbuckling football and Freddie Eastwood terrorising us on the last day of the season (whatever happened to them).

Eventually strollling into the Championship with flair and a quiet confidence, would we survive? All our players looked like small boys compared to Charltons giants on that 1st Championship game but we did and all of a sudden we saw Catalonia flags, Korean flags outside the stadium, Koreans with £50 notes in their hands then the playoffs again with a different result and the PL dream i genuinely thought 1 season but at least we will have had that experience and parachute money, i never dreamed of Cup Finals and European nights, a son who had only ever seen positive Swansea performances and to cap it all posters having meltdowns throughout it all.

MTJ on the bus after Havant and Waterlooville, Twin Towers hidden on the back of shirts that only certain posters could see, Americans telling us about justice and how the world works, stats of all sorts, meetings with board members, T2C arguing with everyone, Agent Dimi proving us all wrong every day despite all the opinion or evidence showing the opposite…strange how that turned out. Dicky, and the wild world on the edge of Planet Swans it was an entertaining journey,

All the opposition fans from Mansfield Stag, the forest keeper for England bloke et al who livened up things. Phil trying to keep control in a most diplomatic and democratic way, and those no longer with us that we shed a tear for people who posted for others not for themselves.

It will be a very strange world post Jack Army Net, last night the first thing i did was post after the game and read the live game comments, i cannot do anything whilst the game is on, its a family warmth that radiates to everyone.

There was a recent post regarding car alarms and fears of a spoilt holiday worrying about your car with Cooperman leaving his family on returning from holidays to check someone’s car alarm in the same car park before heading home. I don’t think you will find that type of kindness elsewhere.

Well done Phil i am sure this wasn’t what you intended this site to be i have no doubt it was to rally fans to save the club but it turned out to be the ideal home for mad, bad, sad and lonely fans of a beautiful game played by our beloved squad.

The site has contributed all types of emotion and many of us have experienced the highs and lows together.

Surely someone will take the site on?

As others have said, this site has been inextricably linked to my experience as a swans fan over the past twenty...four? years since I joined the forum. It's a testament to Phil's work and the community that's grown on here that there are still so many people around from those early days that have made this their online home for the Swans. That's something Phil should be most proud of; it's incredible to think of all the people from different walks of life whose experience of being a Swans fan through all these ups and downs has been shared with so many others via this site, what a fantastic legacy.

There will be plenty of time to reminisce on favourite moments/people/dramas over the years; there are so many.

It's become second nature to me to open up a tab for j.net in the browser as I get myself set for the day. Some days I never have the time to actually look at it, but many I do, but it's always there, as it always has been. Mobile browsers meant I could take you all everywhere, and I have, from back-packing in Asia to working and living in various places, it's been a constant 24/7 connection wherever I was to my beloved Swans whenever I needed it.

Maybe Dimi leaving the club was in anticipation of him returning as site owner and uberMod...all fits into place now.

Sad news, despite only recently rejoining as a contributor, I have been a regular guest over the years.

Thanks for all of your work over more than 2 decades on our Jackarmy rollercoaster.

Lovely post and don’t forget this forum has enabled you to meet me many times.

As a fairly new poster on here, thank you Phil. I’ve been reading this site for years but only made an account last summer with all the hype of the transfer window.

It’s clear this place has become a real community over the last 25 years and has played a significant part in the clubs modern history.

Hopefully the site can be archived or something, it would be a shame to lose it completely!

Wasn’t the goalkeeper Lee Camp?

Strange to say, but results will feel much less important without you headers to bat it around with afterwards. I wouldn’t touch the other site or twatter with a barge pole, so this is my own Swan Song too. I’ll just get tae f**k. I might have to go to games more regularly to annoy those around me.

On the plus side, it’s before the transfer window opens.

Thanks for keeping it going as long as you did Phil.

Smurph and Jax have been quiet on this, I got a feeling they’re sorting a management buy out for this place. In fact they’ve probably been plotting it for a number of months, which is why they were arranging the ill fated get together at that Baglan chaps place abroad.

Pego’s solar panels are the leccy source for the data centre.
