Just been up there, it's unbelievable up there.. it's like a war zone.. it's too small.. it's under staffed and all they've done is put nice new covers on seats.. Eluned Morgan needs to do a shift up there one night just to see how f*cked up it is, people are literally on corridors on beds.. the staff are trying to work in a telephone box.. they need a bigger building and it was only a quiet day according to the staff.. absolute mental up there

It is one of the scariest places. A war zone is a good description. I look at the staff and wonder how the hell can they face that mayhem every single shift. My wife was blue lighted last year and it was an eye opener. I genuinely worry that either of us stand a good chance of going through that ordeal again considering our age and medical conditions.
Hope all is OK with you Penlan.

I was just a visitor.. it's too small.. you've got a humongous waiting area.. then go behind enemy lines and it's like working in a telephone box with beds everywhere.. the staff have probably got to follow strict guidelines.. how they manage i don't know

Half of them loitering in A&E don't need to be there in the first place.

Well thats true too. I know there was a young woman in the next cubicle with a stomach bug. Dear God stay away woman.
While back we were up there (sent by the doctor) and people had been waiting 18 hours, honestly if you can wait that long there can't be that much wrong with you.

Half them looked like regular repeat offenders.

There are serious problems in some GP surgeries in getting an appointment so people go to A&E instead.
Pharmacies are underused for minor ailments which then can prescribe for.

The entire primary care system never really got out of the Covid scenario where they felt like they were doing you a massive favour by giving you an actual appointment when you actually need it. When primary care fails, people will rock up at hospitals.

My youngest has stayed well for a good while, so we've not been there thankfully he's been in RAU, Blue Zone and Red Zone in A&E its a nightmare especially for Mrs cause she stays there with him, she hardly sleeps its so busy with machines beeping buzzing etc noise is unbearable, they can't always find a cubicle on a ward for him so he stays down there.

We used to be regulars there with Amy a few years ago but the emergency district nurses come to the house these days.

Went in there one Saturday night about 5pm and there was an 8 hour wait,a guy comes in about 6pm with two prison officers, they sit down near us and he’s handcuffed to one of them, then he says “I hope we’re back in time for the X-Factor final, the one he’s not handcuffed to goes up to the triage nurses door, knocks and says something, they call the prick in next.

There another night and there’s a girl checking in in front of us,the woman asks her what she’s there for,she replies “I’ve taken four teaspoons of bleach.” 😂

Another night a guy comes in there from Port Talbot limping,I kind of knew him but didn’t if you know what I mean,he knew me (everyone does) and sits not far away.

Him: “Alright Dar what are you doing here then?”
Me: “Our daughter’s ill.”
Him: Oh right,I turned on my ankle playing football earlier I did, I know it’s not broken but I thought I’d get an x-ray.”

After about four hours he gets called in for an x-ray,he’s only in there about 20 minutes and he comes back out, another hour goes by and he gets called in for the result of the x-ray.
Ten minutes he comes out and as he passes us and says “see you guys all good I knew it wasn’t broken.”

I’m sitting there just staring at his back as he’s limping through the door thinking to myself “you stupid stupid cunt, not only have you taken up valuable time of overrun under pressure nurses but you knew there was nothing with you you fucking prick.” 🤬

I lost my dad at the end of March, he spent most of his last 6-7 weeks in Morriston.

The staff in A&E, I don't know how they cope. They give everything and more. And it's still not enough. I feel so sorry for them. Similar story on the Acute unit near the main/front entrance. A lot of very unwell people in there and not enough staff, but the ones working there do their very best.

God help you if you end up on Anglesey Ward though. Now that place....let's just say it's a medical negligence claim waiting to happen. But I digress.

On the whole it's like any hospital though really - most staff try their best in very challenging circumstances to prop up a failing system. They deserve better really

The problem is the Welsh nhs is living with a model that hasn’t adapted. It needs billions to just keep the lights on.

It needs wholesale reform, but no one has the balls to do it. I hope Plaid take a few risks but my guess is it’ll be same story.

One day it’ll just crumble and he privatised piece by piece. Things have to change, I don’t know whether there’s time left for it though.

Be very surprised if Plaid don't keep to or close Labour's policies including their vanity projects in far off countries, Ugandan Trees, Peru's Solar canoe's and offices in the far east.

Morgan asked Iorwerth to say what his costings were and he squirmed away from the question with a load of his usually whataboutery.

Only one I give credit to is Darren Millar he's spoken a lot of sense about what he thinks needs to happen, he won't get the chance to carry his ideas out though, if he was to get his would he do what he says, that's the big question.

My opinion of course, so spare me the bullets :ROFLMAO:
