• We have today (22nd April) confirmed the closure of JackArmy.net on 31st May. Our reasons are varied but after a twenty-five year stint at the heart of the online Swansea City community, the time is right for us to bow out.

The retained list out .
No major surprises .
Ward & Kit Margeston in talks .
Josh Thomas releasd .

Interesting to hear they are in talks with Ward.

I'm up for keeping him around for his experience, not as a blocker for our younger players like Parker and Lissah, though.

Agreed. He's played at centre-back in his time right? Perhaps he's seen the same way Santos was last summer, cheap cover on the bench.

He seems to have a decent character as well and having someone like in and around the changing room can only be a positive

Brogan Popham is a bit of a suprise to me. He and Harlan Perry were the two that Man City and Man Utd were allegedly fighting to sign a year or so ago. I know there's no doubt a ton of salt to be taken with reporting like that, but I assumed he was seen as one we'd be looking to keep and develop. I note Perry signed a pro contract recently.

The club tweet / article includes lists of players under contract, released, loans returning to their clubs, players in negotiations etc.

But as I say, Govea and Walta are missing entirely

Walta is on loan, Govea contract to December.

Hopefully it sinks in this time.
It literally says “The club has extended Aimar Govea's contract until December 2026”. In the club article.

The Walta thing is more complicated than the other loanees, as there was an agreement of sort to buy him. Can’t remember the exact wording.

You're taking for granted his ability to read.

I'm guessing Walta can't be retained because we haven't actually signed him until the window opens again.

We can't retain a player who isn't out of contract with his current club at the moment, the deal was a loan, with a commitment to buy, when his current contract expires. So, as always, your spot on Smurph.

Cheers, Jaxs 🙏🏼

Right so cutting through the nonsense comments this was an admin error by the club not to include these players on any of the lists (as I suspected).
