Wrecsam

It is a massive step up to the Championship - and it is relentless week in and week out.
I don't think they will struggle - but I don't see their march forward continuing at the same pace.
Would take a bet with anyone that we finish above them next year.
I think Phil Parkinson might be found out at Championship level, can see Brum getting in or around the playoffs, Wrexham top half comfortably.

They have a job to pull together 12 random Championship level signings and Parkinson to lead at this level..

Luton proved having cash doesn't always guarantee success.

I don’t care how much they have to spend..can’t stand them and the attitude of the Johnny come lately mob makes me detest them even more.
Doing the double over that lot would give me greater satisfaction than beating those up the road.
If you know you know …isn’t that the saying?

I should imagine a fair few clubs inflating the prices of their players should Sexy Wrexy come calling.
We should have hung on and got £30 million for Grimes...
maybe even a few quid for Williams :ROFLMAO:

Luton got promoted out of League 2 and League 1 in back-to-back seasons, then spent 4 seasons in the Championship before getting promoted to the PL.

Clearly it hasn't gone well since their time in the PL, but they've done well overall. Also, do they have plenty of cash? I wasn't aware of that.

Parachute payments and new investment and drop straight from Prem to L1 is criminal.

Not saying Wrexham won't do well but a lot depends on their recruitment and who steers the ship.

I would back us to finish higher

I think they'll finish mid table next season but really push on the season afterwards. Unfortunately money talks in football and they have tons of it sloshing about, much more than us.

I fully expect them to get the premier league before we do.

Obviously it will depend on how they recruit and how their managers gets on. Exactly the same as every other team.

Not sure I’d say “fully expect” but I’d agree that they could have a better chance than us if they can do it in the next couple of seasons. The longer they take the harder it will get though, as we found when we couldn’t do it within three years of being regulated. Hopefully we’re going to turns corner this season and make it harder for them.

To be fair we were hampered by Ayews wages which stooped us being a proper competitive and preventing us bouncing back first time. At least now we have genuinely competent and enthusiastic people at the helm so our commercial income will improve I’m sure

Fenerbahce covered Ayew’s wages the season we were relegated.

It was terrible terrible transfer dealings that stopped us from competing, not one players wages.

An interesting view from a Wrexham work colleague. He said when they got into L2 they could identify 18 clubs they could finish above. This season in L1 it was 16 for the Championship next season they have identified 6 they could finish above. Not saying he's right but maybe some of their fans are a bit more cautious than others.
